A Norwegian consortium could be poised to take over financially-stricken Second Division side Oldham. The group are currently holding talks with owner Chris Moore, who recently stopped bankrolling the club's £50,000-a-week losses.

"They are dealing direct with Chris," Oldham spokesman Sean Jarvis told BBC GMR.

"I understand all the paperwork has been drawn up and that the deal is ready to be signed.

"We want this club to survive. If it is with the Norwegians, great. We look forward to working with them."

Hmm, well, yes. But Franchise were taken over by Norwegians weren't they ?

Norwegians??....Oh dear, what is the agenda there? A move to some naff town off the M1, because the previous 'enterprise' to 'relocate' a club ran into difficulty?..........

Well, at least Oldham do have their own home (the highest ground in the league they say). But, Oldham, like Bury and Rochdale, suffer from the fact that there's no shortage of Premier league sides in closer proximity that many BHA fans are to Withdean.

A move to somewhere halfway down the M6 is entirely possible.
