I would keep it for certain things like cheating and red card reviews. So dive to win a penalty and VAR should intervene, an incorrect or missed red card should result in VAR intervention. I would really try to limit its involvement in goals, as that’s where it takes the joy of the moment away.

My first inclination was, like yours, dearie me he's needlessly sarcastic...

Then I reread it with a touch of sincerity in his dulcet tones, and I admit the gentle susseration was quite soothing.
