Starting a revolution from my bed
possibly, I usually go with my mates and my old man's mates, seeing how we dont have a f***ing clue where we're going we have to follow them from a distance. He doesn't go to all the games now though so I dont know yet, i'd rather go to the likes of Millwall, Oreint, Swindon, etc...

I'm using the Costa Express for Yeovil. I can't drive and it's cheaper than getting the train, so it makes perfect sense!

The best way to do the journey is to take an ipod/mp3 player, that way randoms can't try and strike up conversation with you

am i being a kunt asking what this costa express is??

i've only ever got the train, not aware of this "coach" malarkey. can you booze on it? if no, don't even dignify me with a response.

in fairness there are laws on drinking on coaches to football games, if the OB caught alcohol being consumed on the coach i beleive they have the right to turn the coach back and refuse entry to the game for everyone who was on the coach. hardly fair to everyone else if there was only one person drinking on the coach

The coach to Southend was only £21, hardly expensive considering you are talking about £15 just to get in to London (network rail site is down so can't see how much the train to Southend is).

It cost me £20.50 last friday, so it was actually cheaper!

In most case's its the same if not cheaper by the train providing you book it up in advance, i did by my train ticket on the day last week tho.

The main thing i don't like about the coach is that it doesn't get to the ground of the team we are playing no earlier than 13:30 so wouldn't give me any chance to by a meal anywhere and a KFC or something in a service station isn't going to keep me going all day.
It becomes more of a day out by the train so even if we lose at least i have spent more than just the rest of the day sitting on a coach.

Saying that looks like i will probably have to get it on Tuesday as don't fancy getting back at 02:30 unless i can find a lift...

Very true, if cought by the police the person caught drinking it gets fined £1000, the coach operator gets fined £1000 and the organizer of the trip gets fined £1000, and the operator stands to loose there O licence (operators licence) which means I be out of a job so I would probably tell Liz if someone was drinking on a coach!

It works out cheaper on the train, if you take advantage of group deals and buy tickets in advance. I've managed to do every game cheaper than the coach so far this year (and what I've worked out to, upto Carlisle in November)

Coach is handy for midweek away though, e.g Doncaster last year and Stockport this year

Me and 3 others are driving up and staying over in Carlisle for a night (did that last year)

Looking at train times, I think the best thing to do is to book advance tickets from Kings Cross to Newcastle from National Express Train tickets for travel to London, York, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow
(when they go on sale) and buy a CDR to Carlisle.

On the day, buy your Brighton- London tickets (3 for 2 and 4 for 2 offers apply). I think thats the cheapest way to do it

Have you actually been on the coach before or are you one of these people who follow the crowd and say it's crap because one person dislikes it?
I can't see what's wrong with it to be honest. For the longer away trips it works out miles cheaper than taking the train and is hassle free. If you don't like the people that travel on there then you don't need to talk to them.
what a enjoyable trip that would be then:dunce:
