I'm now considering a restructure of the site so that all threads that are, it seems, going to head down the same inevitable avenues can be housed away from the rest of the board, allowing everyone else to ignore them.

Historically, I'd have been dead against this idea (while acknowledging that it was nothing to do with me). Now, however, I would be strongly in favour, while continuing the same acknowledgement.

The frequency of threads being started seemingly to spoil for a fight appears to have increased significantly over the last year or so.

The last year or so? [emoji23][emoji23]

Move Political discussion into its own forum or have BHAFC discussion and everything else?

It always seems to be the same people who complain they're not allowed to post on a message board by posting on a message board.

Fair point. More accurately, I should perhaps have said "over the last 3 or so years, but with an exponential growth curve, such that it's become particularly noticeable to me over the last year".

I've got to wonder why posters spend their time on NSC, moaning about NSC.

As to Bozza's other point I've certainly found myself asking 'haven't you had enough of this yet?' and much to my surprise they've wandered off elsewhere.

Granted they've continued the same back and forth somewhere else, but it's a start.

Back with an absolute stinker of a thread as always, ladies and gentlemen, wellquickwoody.

It's the consistency that I admire.

Ah, yes, exponential growth. Have we reached "peak CJTC"?

Bozza I was always one for a single board for everything but would now be inclined to agree that a binfest section would be beneficial to allow the rest of us people to just get on with life.

The amount of bedwetting on here about whether or not you're allowed to describe how wet your sheets are would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

1. Your thread, assuming you mean this one. didn't ask a single question.

2. This thread was moved by a moderator, believing they were doing the right thing, as this thread very much looked like it was spoiling for a fight.

3. I immediately moved it back and informed the other moderators as to why. My comment to the mods WhatsApp group was, in its entirety: "Let them moan without claiming we're censoring moaming".

My intent was to just let you and your cohort get on with your moaning, but I've stepped in now.

I can only guess what you were trying to say because, as above, you didn't actually ask a question. However, the implication is that NSC is trying to censor what people say in some way, shape or form. That is absolutely not the case, as I stated on the BLM thread - you can say what you want, but if it's not related to the key message of the BLM movement, say it elsewhere.

I find the whole thing utterly tiresome and there are a small group of users who, if I allowed it, would completely spoil my usage of NSC. They have the same arguments, again and again, in what is a completely fruitless exercise. In both directions "the other side" are not going to change their minds, so I don't understand why so much time and angst is spent my the main protagonists on the same old fights.

I'm now considering a restructure of the site so that all threads that are, it seems, going to head down the same inevitable avenues can be housed away from the rest of the board, allowing everyone else to ignore them.

I used to work with this fella, who used to throw a 'virtual grenade' into our crew room during some certain conversations, then walk away grinning in delight as to the repercussions.
Not nice to be amongst, given certain topics.
My point is that if certain posters do similar, can't you just ban them and be done with all the arguing and bollox that ensues afterwards ???

I have no idea what enjoyment some posters get from NSC.

The amount of circular arguments the same people have over the same subjects is baffling.

I'm sure they could easily have the whole discussion on their own.
They know exactly what they are going to say and exactly what reply it will receive, and so on.

That’s when everyone starts throwing around censorship and free speech accusations, despite the fact that this is a private website and Bozza can do as he pleases.

Sounds like a good idea to split off political arguing threads into a different part of NSC.

Much healthier to lockdown the poison.
