Obviously as Albion fans we have had some dealings with this twat.
But a side from that, what is he like as an MP,everytime i hear him talk he seems as though he is out of touch with the real world.
Is it just me who feels this way or has he got more about him?

Only positive I can say for him is that he replied to my letters/ emails which considering I'm not from his patch, I thought that was decent of him. Perhaps there's something that says MP's must reply? I presume not.

Lewes folk love him because he is basically an ageing, balding, MP hippy.

Everyone else on God's earth however think that he's a well shiny LADIES FRONT BOTTOM.

Apart from his well publicised opposition to Falmer, I'll never forgive him for talking the A27 improvements (and this was when money was available) from a proposed dual carriageway down to single lane slow by-pass, just to keep hairy-lipped fem botts, and emanciated house husbands in Lewes off his case.

Go shove it Baker, you stupid twunt.

I guess the only way you can really tell is whether he performs his MP duties as you might hope.

To me, he seems like a local man for local people, but also a bit of an opportunist, quickly jumping on causes that seem at first glance so blatently popularistic vote winners.

Not a terrible MP, but not brilliant either.

I agree with much of what he says, particularly his evironmental and ethical crusades.

He was the forerunner in 'expenses-gate', wasn't he? Good man.

I think he was the forerunner, but when they delved deeper they actually found that he had been fiddling his expenses as well.

He is a good man though, campaigns for his constituency, deals with the issues, and isn't just interesting in furthering his own career.

It may surprise some people here - particularly on a day when I have been venting my spleen against another Lewes lib dem - but I quite like the guy.

He can be very helpful to his constituents.

Once upon a time, I even used to write press releases for him. But that was before he became an MP.

As a constituency MP, he's probably among the hardest working. Let's face it, if you're a venal, career obsessed, power-crazed politico you're hardly likely to join the Lib Dems, are you?

I think he was very misguided over Falmer but he had a particular view and he stuck to it, and from what I recall he was gracious in defeat.

I'd vote for him (a) because of his consituency work and (b) he's the only real alternative to the Tories in Lewes. But if the Lib Dems are planning to prop up a minority Tory government in the event of a hung Parliament, sorry, but he loses my vote.

I don't know what you read about him because he changed his tune several times, went public with the 'hotel' story when he knew it was just a theory, and was two faced about the whole thing.

You may be right. I guess I've just moved on.

What? Mr B? YOU wrote press releases? Jesus - how many of us did he have writing them then? He had me doing two or three a week for starters!
