After due reflection, I realise that I am no longer an asset to the party. In fact, I am an utter embarrassment to my colleagues, friends, family and pets.
Though it is hard to alienate an entire county by being MP for Lewes, I have managed it and lost our party thousands of votes.
I therefore respectfully tender my resignation. I am starting a new consultancy firm, Bellotti Baker, which will provide duckpond advice. I expect to be out of business within months.
