The club website says about him not being eligible to play against Leyton Orient because he cant be registered. How have clubs managed to get over this by signing a player on loan for a couple of days and then permanently during that loan period. Why couldnt we have done the same?

Permanent signings have to be registered by 5pm the day before a match. This is impossible, as the window doesn't open until midnight tonight. Loan signings can be done up to three hours before kick-off, but are for a minimum of 28 days, so we wouldn't be able to complete the permanent deal until Jan 29th, and Plymouth wanted the deal done before then.
