has anyone been to any non-league games NOT in sussex?

i ask purely because i am going to gateshead vs witton albion on monday(i'm in newcastle by myself and bored off my tits) at the country's GREATEST non-league venue

i was basically wondering what the standard is like, as my non-league knowledge is very poor

gateshead are at the same level as worthing i believe

I have been to 9 Forest Green Rovers games this season, if you include a pre-season friendly against Sunderland, have to say that the standard is varied but you can never predict what will happen. The game v Weymouth on New Years Day, which ended 3-2 in favour of Rovers, was probably the most exciting game I have seen at any level for years...mind you the 4-4 last Monday versus Stevenage took some beating, as did a 2-0 away win at Oxford a couple of weeks ago.

I have also been to a few non-league games in Sussex...Horsham, Bognor, Worthing, etc and have to say that you can strike lucky at any level and get an entertaining game.

What's interesting about Gateshead FC is that they want to move out of the athletics stadium and get their own purpose built stadium to support a climb up the leagues.

I wonder how long it will take them.

On your next away game catch up with Albion legend Doc talbot who has done just about everywhere in the UK.

Over the Easter weekend he saw 9 matches, starting on Thursday and ending at tranmere. He's even shown me a special 'agenda' from a group who planned a coach for most of these games around the Doncaster area.

aye i've heard that they're building on one of gateshead secondary schools

makes sense i guess, they tend to play in front of about 300-500 people in a 12,000 seat stadium, so a downgrade may suit them

It must have been about the same time as New Brighton.

I've seen Witton Albion play quite a few times, including once about ten years ago when they ran out to a brass band playing SUSSEX BY THE SEA :clap2:

I have also seen quite a few Crawley games. I would say they are my second team :D Also went to a few Rushden and Diamonds games before they were promoted to the league

Talking of Gateshead, isn't that where Sir norman Gall used to play before he joined us?
