So my son is up in derby and took a temporary job at sports direct (yeah, I know 😔) before Xmas. He only did a few days, about 20 odd hours. He hasn’t been paid and his manager in the shop hasn’t answered his calls or emails.
Is there anything he can do?
I’ve told him to email their head office but wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t get an answer from them either

Presumably he signed a contract of some sort? Write to their head office, give them 30 days to make good, then take them to the Small Claims Court

I would as long as I had proof that I worked said hours, contact the Derby’s version of the Argus, explain the non payment of wages and invite them along to witness your seizure of goods to the value….. spread the word on social media and half the towns you tube tik tickets frat will show up as well!

I imagine they might have some sort of online system where they log the hours they’ve worked. If that can still be accessed send screenshots to the HR department and he should get paid in the next payroll. Worked for me years ago when I had a similar problem not getting paid from a temp job.
