You, BG, are not 'most people'. Cycling is hugely popular, as evidenced by previous winners. You don't like it. So what?

As a quarter of the nominees are bike riders, I guess no Froome is fair enough.

To be fair to BG, he may have a bit of a point.

I mean, Sagan is never going to win our International award because loads of people haven't heard of him, but he should win hands down if there's any justice in the world.

Nope. It'll probably go to some boxer, formula 1 bloke, golfer, or some other 'household name' instead.

Oh, I won't bother engaging in any meaningless 'debate' with him. I've got Bloodline to catch up on.
You can't let him win, get back in there and fight our corner.

I promise it'll be truly worthwhile. :lolol:

I think the team award is going to be the most difficult choice. There's Team GB, Leicester, the ladies hockey team, Jamie Murray & his doubles partner who are no. 1 in the world.
I'm sure there are others that I haven't thought of.

If for personality, surely Nicola Adams would be in with a shout, love her interviews, always gracious, smiling and bubbly:love::love::love:

Let him win? Ha!

Haha.
My quick maths on the bike riders, we've been so reliably informed AREN'T on the shortlist, equate to 9 gold medals, at this years Olympics games.

We'd have won more in other sports if the cyclists hadn't got in the way.

Ruining it for everybody.
And when I say everybody I mean pensioners from Haywards Heath, which as we all know are one of the same.

Andy Murray is a spectacular achiever in British sport and deserves to have won this title on more than one occasion, but I do wonder what else Mo Farah has to do to win.

He is the double double Olympic and World champion at 5,000m and 10,000m. An almost unheard of individual sporting achievement, of exceptional brilliance. Sorry to say, that I think if Mo was white (think Cram, Coe, Foster) and not born in Mogadishu he'd probably have won this award already.

As well as holding the European record for distances ranging from 1500m (faster than Coe, Ovett and Cram) to 10,000m, as well as one WR. The man is a total f-ing legend.

I thought Justin Rose might have at least made the list. First Gold medal in golf, won it with a bit of pride and passion. Better shout than some on there.

I think Bale might be in with a chance on the basis the Olympic / cycle vote might be split whereas Bale has had a stellar season with Wales and Real Madrid both successful. I also think he's a top bloke unlike Giggs who was a bit of a tw*t.

Murray will win it by an absolute mile.

I hope he doesn't, because we'll have to give it to him each time he wins Wimbledon, which I hope happens a few more times!

Would much prefer Mo this time, especially as it's probably the end of the fairytale
