there is a notice on the board at the flats where I live saying the works are ONLY on Saturday between 1am - 6pm, and that the works are right by the ground

It seemed to suggest the trains will be running aftewr 6pm

It doesn't take that much longer and it is a much prettier journey!

Great stuff.

Got the 1 O'clock train from London Bridge and finally got to Withdean at 3:45

So almost a three hour journey.

Thought I'd get the "fast bus" what I mistake that was.

After talking to the driver I realised that my good idea of making some of the fast buses make an extra stop on London road after a home game hadn't been implemented.

So not wishing to put up with that again, I decided to get a lift across the county to get on the Hastings line where I sat in comfort back to London.

What a f*cking day.

Was that a notice of the service disruption or a notice of noise disruption to local residents?

I've got to drive my nipper & his mates to three bridges tomorrow so they can get a train to Clapham Jn and then a bus to west brompton to go & watch Chelsea, I know engineering work has to be done but some weekends they do make it very hard for people to travel.

Realised I got overcharge for a ticket at London Bridge as well.

Got there with about 10 minutes to spare and there was absolutely no way I was going to be able to get a ticket.

Nice bloke at the information desk told me I would be able to get a ticket at the other side of the barrier of one of the "revenue collectors.." or whatever they are called.

Was then given a load of abuse from the guy who said I shouldn't have been allowed through and he was going to report the person who did so.

I have an Oyster Card and perfectly allowed that side of the barrier (I bloody swiped through) but in his "put them in a uniform, give em job title like revenue protector and he thinks he's the military police" he refused to make eye contact or respond to me and went into a pathetic "how to respond to an angry customer mode" that he learnt on a residential course in Basildon.

I reminded him that I was a customer of his company and perhaps he'd be doing a better job the OTHER side of the barrier attempting to get the queues down like they do VERY effectively at Victoria on a Saturday.

This very one dimensional human being who is obviously used to fining people rather than selling them something then pretended his machine was broken and walked off to fine someone with his perfectly working machine.

I was eventually sold a ticket by another, but realised I been over charged.

Anyway :) The replacement buses are usually a nightmare. I won't be using them again, I'll simply go down to the other side of the county and get a lift.

They must be bad if you'd willingly put yourself in Hastings for any amount of time.
