Hurrah! The Tories hammered the Labour Party in my home town. Wonderful to see them lose their seats in Brighton Kemptown and Hove.

That'll upset the lefty clique on here! Cheers, I'll be having a few tonight!

But they still got more votes in Brighton Pavilion even though a more left-wing party won the seat

And what must be particularly galling for Labour in the three seats is that they actually WON the popular vote.

Labour - 47,553
Conservative - 46,786
LibDem - 26,090
Green - 21,136
Others - 4,045

That's amazing. PR anyone?

Lepper and Turner said that without Falmer they would lose, then stood down anyway. Guess they knew what was happening on the ground (not THAT one..)

I take it you'll be drinking at home (given the lack of decent pubs in Shit Town)?

Newsflash:

I've f***ed up the figures...

These are the right ones

Conservative - 46,786
Labour - 46,301
LibDem - 26,090
Green - 21,136
Others - 4,045

You weren't doing the counting last night were you ? Might explain why the Lib Dems didn't get the votes they were expecting :p

I'd be the first to agree with you about central Milton Keynes and the hostelries or rather lack of them. However there are numerous "real" old boozers in the pre-MK parts of the area, like Stony Stratford and New Bradwell. I will be celebrating the ousting of the appalling new Labour stooge Dr Starkey from MK however, with my fellow right wing friends. Toodle pip!

The free state of Kemp Town
Hardly a hammering.

A very narrow victory in Kemp Town and a pathetic third place in Pavilion where the two parties ahead of the Tory candidate were competing directly with each other.

Frankly it's a very poor showing from the Tories down here and suggests the city is set to become a key battleground for many years to come

Better than that, no Labour in Sussex! :clap2:

It's about time we declared our independence and get rid of them for good, and the "clique" can follow them over the border into Kent, Hampshire or Surrey

There were still more votes for left leaning parties than for those on the right across Sussex.

Suggests we are, thankfully, far from being a middle England Tory stronghold

Fair enough, although you won't be surprised to hear I won't be joining in with your merry little band of right-wingers. I'll probably be washing my hair this evening. Or something.
