both :
- we did not deserve to lose.
- both were won by late, quality goals by the oppostion.
- both we dominated for periods.
- both the players were working very hard. not their fault that the majority of them have not been playing for their previous clubs so are not match fit or in form.

so, no complaints from me under slade, moaners feck off.

No, not in the slightest but the last two we have been. rest of the season has just been shit and down to bad tactics but these last two we're actually playing some football and havent deserved to lose them

I think Borrowdale going off was what did it, seeing as both of their goals came down the left wing.

I *DO* think we're better, definately were all over them in the 2nd half and if it wasn't for a bit of luck (again, how often does a ball come off the INSIDE of the post in slow motion) then we woulda got something.

Yeovil are in absolute freefall at the moment though and I really hope Slade knows how to beat his old team. Beat them and we're only 3 points from safety with a game in hand. I simply won't give up until it's mathmatically impossible for us to stay up.

Spot on

Unfortunately we have a vocal minority that judge a game only by the final score and not by what actually happens in a game, Lose and we were shit, win, even if we played poorly, and we were good. They see everything in black and white when there is a whole spectrum of colour out there.

Keep playing like we did tonight, and if the fans keep getting behind the team like they did tonight as well, we will stay up :albion2::albion2:

A statement not supported by our new manager.
His response to tonight was that players have to do their jobs and the defending was poor.

So in his eyes we did not play well, lot of effort but elementry bad defending.

is this how low our standards have dropped?

and if you disagree that we were good in the second half, by what standard are you measuring the performance against? - comparing us to Man Utd maybe, and if we arn't as good as them, it's a poor show?

We did very well today, but for that little bit of luck we have seemed to be lacking this season, we would have got at least a point from the match, the blatent 1st half penalty that wasn't given, for hitting the inside of their goal, only for it to come back out again, and the 1st real chance they had second half, th score from, or their 3rd goal not being disallowed for a blatent foul on El-Abd?

We lost because we were pushing for a winner and got caught on the counter, something that has happened alot this season.
Have we had a single goal this season which has had any fortune about it? or do we seem to have luck against us, how many tiomes have we hit the woodwork and it not go in?

I thoutht we looked a lot more organised and looked to play proper football tonight.

Slade spoke very well and is dead right about us defensively.

My concern is by the time he has managed to put us right we will already be in a postion which will be terminal.

Adams should have gone in December leaving the new manager the time and ability to bring in players.

The board should take all the blame if we go down.

i can't remember this! when did that happen?

i was very annoyed with the ref for the third goal, blatant foul.

For the second goal, Southend's no. 9 was left completely unmarked at the back of the area in about twenty yards of space for a good couple of minutes while the action ping-ponged around in front of him. He still had a lot or work to do when the ball finally and inevitably came out to him, and his finish was immaculate. But the goal was preventable with a bit of awareness by the defence. Not so sure about the third, looks to be a goal-line scramble that could have gone either way.

We had enough chances for the 3-1 score to easily have been in our favour, but when things go wrong at the moment, they just seem to keep going wrong. It's cruel, and it's rank bad luck, but sadly it seems to be doing us in.

We played well in the second half tonight for sure and were unlucky to lose. But frankly that happened very many times aunder Adams. Tonight was not so different to many other games where we failed to take advantage of being on top and then defended horribly at key times. We've been doing the same all season. I don't think anyone can say it was much different tonight. And to claim Slade has got us more organised after a couple of days is frankly nonsense.

Their third goal was 100% down to a shit ref. After El Abd tackled the bloke on the break, he was clearly, clearly held back by the guy he'd tackled, in which time the other bloke of theirs (excuse the "bloke" thing, I don't give a stuff about opposition players names) had come through and got the ball.

It certainly contributed for sure and I thought the ref should have spotted that. However it was still more than a little soft in terms of defending properly.
