Weird thing to be told on early arrival in WSU.

Staff couldn't explain why it was today only. Be interested to see if same in other parts of ground or we were told a porky by group of staff that just couldn't use the till options (happens a lot up here).

It’s members day so all merch is 10% off anyway. Not sure about concessions.

But does that include booze and pies, etc? Otherwise, those of us who got themselves an amex card PURELY to get a discount at the bar will lose out.

No idea as this is all the “pre match brief” email says - see the bits at the top and bottom of the screenshot.

As well as no Amex discount, tea was half full and sausage roll was lukewarm (instead of the usual near- nuclear temperature). Happy days

Probably something as simple as their payment system (the same system for food and beverage and merchandise) hasn’t been calibrated to cope with two discounts otherwise Amex card holders would be getting 20% off merch.

The system is probably capable of segregating promotions but maybe they haven’t got the personnel to sort it out, see ticket windows for benchmarking.

I’ve saved a massive £10 on some merch today though, and I’m not even there this afternoon

We were told they were changing the system so that in future it automatically detects the Amex discount without having to ask for it. Seems strange to do it in a period involving a match day though.

In contrast to this I was pleasantly surprised the nice lady working in the (temp) club shop told me about a 10% members/STH discount sent out by email (which I hadn’t seen).

A nice touch.
