Ninian Park next season!?

Out of interest is there anyone who travelled to Cardiff on Sunday that would not go back to go to Ninian Park next season because of fears of trouble!?

There must be some reason we take over a thousand to most away games yet some fans seem to have a mental block when it comes to Cardiff (away).

The Millenium Stadium and the surrounding area is truly great stage for a football match. The policing and organisation was absolutely first class.

Has Sunday changed anyone's mind about attending a game just a mile down the road from the Millenium next season!?

I always go - those fuckers will not stop me watching my team.

But, it's a different kettle of fish to Sunday and good luck finding a friendly pre-match watering hole.

If you do, I'll probably be the quiet one in the corner...

A lot of the stewards working at the Millenium stadium were Cardiff City fans and said after the game how they were looking forward to playing us, especially as our fans make a lot of noise compared to other teams. They seemed alright, but their 'reputation' does put me off just a tad. I don't want abuse screamed at me again.

So you've been to all the recent games at Ninian then...?

Mrs Gwylan and I were talking about how Cardiff is a must next season. In fact, we'll probably make a weekend of it.

Looking forward to it immensely - just behind Leeds, Sunderland and Leicester.

After the last visit to Cardiff in 2001, I said that was it, no police protection and the Stone Island brigade outside Ninian more than willing to hit anyone. Not helped that we got a cab from the station and asked for Ninian Park, and the driver dropped us outside the Ninina Park pub and so we had to walk past the pubn and the main stand.

But time being a healer and all that, been there 4 times, so will probably end up going, as drinking around St Marys Street is always good and we get time for a few ales in Bath on the way home.

Been 4 times before, coined on the head once by some pre-historic wanker... Always a very dodgy and edgy atmosphere there, totally different to all other matches but if i've nothing better to do i'll probably end up going again.

We parked not too far from Ninian. As we walked to the car after the game we walked though some hard core Cardiff City terretory with stickers on the windows in shops and some very undesirable people sitting outside some pubs with saw dust on the floor and the seats bolted to the ground! However, we spoke to about three of them as we walked past and they were ALL chuffed to bits that we had beaten the Wurzzles! The last chap we met knew his football and was complaining that he didn't know why they got rid of Chippy. We also discussed what had happened to Zamora although he added that he still seems to score against them. In the end we had to make our excuses as we thought we'd never get away.

Very friendly indeed. Like every club they have their nutters indeed there was a chaop on the Sunderland site asking if WE were still a dangerous place to visit??!?! However, Cardiff also have some very knowledgable friendly fans that are an interesting sort to share a pint of four with before a game. I may well travel to Ninian next season and will travel with an open mind.
