The Coasters years with Rory were superb

Was that the old Jenkinsons where you had to wear a tie to get in ? ,and Rory used to play a disco version of the Andy Williams song "cant take my eyes off you " a lot with girls dancing on the bar .First time got really legless was at the "Rev"where you could get in when only 16 and Sherries was always really packed out on a Sunday night in fact sometimes could not get in ,thinking about those high waisters and platform shoes how embarracing !

Yes and that disco version was Boystown Gang which is on my iPod Touch and is still a classic.

50s and 60s my era,50s too young to go drinking so went to a coffee bar in Queens Road, well I was that Teddy Boy......was out the Country for 58/60. Went on pub crawls then...met my 2nd wife in Sherries.Did the famous pub crawl in London.....'Dirty Dicks' on to the 'The grapes'(smallest pub in London...that was heaving...you could only get 12 people in. Then 'Worlds End' which overhung the Thames. 'Watermans Arms'Always had a Trad band in the street outside..."Oh! You railway station,oh! you Pullman train......" The finish was Swiss Cottage...great days, load of money...England swings like a pendulum do......

Anyone remember the name of the D.J. who played in the Suite for donkey's years late seventies/eighties , also played saturdays at Top Man western road! Bit of a boring fart if i remember rightly.

Careful, he may be watching...the legendary PL was(is) a long term STH in the north stand at Withdean

On the ocean wave
Swifts was always good for checking the Coconut queue & breaking your group up so you wouldn't have to try & get in all at one time, then all meeting up downstairs at the bottom bar.

What about Fagans on East East street next to the ABC cinema it had wine/ cocktail bar on the Ground Floor with Disco on the first floor called Toppers and another disco in the basement. There was also the Zodiac club on West Street.

No idea whats going on in Brighton these days, but Busby's and the Pink Coconut (Although I seem to remember going there before when it was called something else) was the highlight of my teenage years.
Three Crowns in East Preston, then to Sterns or the pub on Worthing seafront near the bowling, Bishop/friar's kitchen? something, then on to Brighton. Sherrys and Coasters, yippee!
What a dream weekend. usually manage to pull in Brighton Friday night, and stay over with whoever until getting back in the early hours of Sunday. If BHA were at home even better.
Class.

Did anyone ever venture out a bit further - we were all living in Peacehaven at the time and used to go to Down Town Saturdays in Hastings or the club on Eastbourne Pier.
