It's (surely?!) a blatant infringement of any bubble rules. I don't know what the exact rules are, but guy comes over from Germany and comes to your house can't be allowed?! So the fact there's been no comment suggests the next comment from press or club might be a signing announcement.

(If this was normal times it'd be easy to say there's nothing in it- just seeing a mat. But this year?)

Getting those of the wage bill is only stemming the losses. We've given plenty improved contracts and will continue to do so

Still though, that type of goal can be scored at any level - it just happens really rarely that a player is brave, confident and clever enough to attempt it.

Saw a Spanish article saying Montoya was €6M, dont know how reliable it is. And Andy Natlor did an article in the Atlantic saying Mooys release clause was £4M to Chinese clubs. The salaries are educated guesses based on our wage bill in the annual accounts, average 1st team wage last year was ~40k.

As I say I'm guessing, and we're mostly just plugging gaps from losses in previous years, but as a snapshot in a single transfer window, we're likely to be roughly break even having shifted some expensive fringe players for fees for the first time since we came up.

Ahh Van Hooijdonk I remember him. Quality player, remember seeing him play in the PL for Forest I believe.

He sort of lost the plot if I recall. Had a red mist not unlike our Andone. But real talent though.
