and a chance for Alonso, Hamilton, Vettell and Button to go head to head with one of the all time greats :clap2:

BBC Sport - F1 - Michael Schumacher close to Mercedes deal, say Ferrari

The car is certain to be a front runner as it won the title this year, has Ross Brawn in charge and now had a shitload of investment from Mercedes. Fan bloody tastic season coming up I reckon.

The only way he'd win the championship agian is by cheating.

I think he had the best car for most of his career and his partner drivers were never allowed to be anything but mobile barriers to other drivers. He also cheated a bit as well. This year he will probably have a very good car but some of the current crop of F1 drivers are pretty good. I'd love to see him outdriven by the new boys  I will be gutted if he pulls off an 8th World Championship.

I'm just looking forward to button being MERKED by Hamilton this year.

But the championship is certainly looking promising

Not that certain though. Button and Brawn only won the championships because of the early season dominance. The latter half was pretty ordinary.

Great skill in 1994 (crashed to win), 1997 (crashed to attempt to win), 2005(?) (parks in Monaco to attempt to get pole).

Such skill.

Cheating f***ing German

What about all those other races in which he completely destroyed all the competition? I don't particularly like germans, however, Schumacher is a one of the all time greatest F1 drivers.

The other drivers let him win cos they knew if they challenged him, he'd crash into them

Those other races where he had the best car and pitwall? Yeah, real class driver. If he was so good he'd come back and join USF1 to prove how amazing he is.

Mercedes engine again, minimal rule changes except re-fuelling, big input of money, one of the best drivers at car setup and Ross Brawn. I expect them to be just as competitive as McClaren and Red Bull tbh. Interesting though innit???

So, what your saying is that anyone who wins multiple championships in a good car isn't a good driver? what about the likes of Ayrton Senna and many before him who won multiple championships in arguably the best car on the track, was he not a good driver also?
Its common feeling among those who don't really get F1 that just because you have a good car it guarantees you the win and if you do win the race then its all because of the car nothing to do with driving ability, you still need to keep the car on the track which he did most of the time.

You seem to have something against Schumacher, perhaps the fact he is german?

No, I just think Schumacher is a filthy cheat. Senna, Clark, Fangio, even Prost I have a lot of respect for. Maybe if Schumacher hadn't felt the need to cheat so much then his world championships wouldn't be so tarnished.

"Option 13" anyone?

249 Race starts
91 Race wins
68 poles

He 'cheated' on what, 3-4 occasions?

We may as well leave it anyway, we clearly aren't going to agree so lets agree to disagree.

"Cheated" in quotes? You really have no idea. Do you not recall entire the season of 1994 with the infamous Option 13, or the fuel rigs? Or moveable floors?

That's a lot more than 3/-4 occasions.

Anyone, I'll leave you in you oblivious bubble of Schumacher loving, maybe one day you'll open your eyes and see the truth though.

I don't love Schumacher actually, I have no feelings about him, other than looking past the things he did wrong and thinking he is/was a great driver, the statistics do not lie.
I cannot even be bothered, if your to ignorant to realise people have varying opinions on different things then you obviously are not worth arguing with.
