But I would think that would go up to around the 2k mark if they got in the league as a number of people would watch Brighton at Falmer in the championship and Whitehawk at Withdean in the Conference or Div 2.

Being a realist...Crawley or Boro are the only teams that could ever do it

A dreamer......yeah I would love Worthing to reach the football league however if in 10 years time we are an established Blue Suare South side I would be happy. Need to be in Ryman Prem by 2011 to stop losing our crowds and start pushing from there.

Where would the fans come from though? They've got no existing fanbase and I can't see that many people wanting to watch a poor standard of football at a rubbish ground when, assuming Brighton were in the Championship, they could be watching a decent standard of football in a decent ground for about the same price.

I will refuse to vote purely on the basis that you have put in Burgess Hill, Worthing & Hastings and not us over in Horsham.

Not that we would make it that far but I don't see why you would think we are any less likely to than the likes of those I've just mentioned!

When BHA are away not all fans are able to go to those matches. Withdean would probably be pay on the day then with anticipated smaller crowds and less parking restrictions.

When I was a lad I went to Woodside road when Brighton were away so why wouldnt others do the same with Whitehawk when playing ata ground that is far better than their existing one.

How the f*** did you work that out?

Lewes never got anywhere near those numbers and that is a town considerably larger than the council estate that Whitehawk is. Crawley and Eastbourne both struggle to break 4 figures.

Lewes Crawley or Eastbourne are not in the football league, which is what the question was about and I based my answer on my own experioences as in the post above yours.

Also none of the other 3 are Brighton teams so wouldnt expect people in Brighton to want to watch them.

If you are not watching them in the conference is the fact that they've gone up one division to the football league going to add another 1k on the gate?? No! You might have the odd game where the away team bring a few but regularly it won't happen!

Do you honestly think Whitehawk could go from getting 35 people to 2k, which is more than the already established at that level Sussex non league sides if they go up 4 or 5 steps?

You might get a few people along, but you simply are not going to get 2,000 Brighton fans watching Whitehawk when Brighton are away from home. The attendances of Sussex clubs in the Conference don't increase dramatically when Brighton are away now, there's nothing to suggest that they would in the future.

I am certain a lot would go to watch Football League who would not go to Conference. Any way it is all hypothetyical because as I said I will never see another Sussex team in the FL.

Why do you say that? Only the North Stand will stay when we leave, with some of the tempoary one's being kept else where for 'Big' events.

In which case it's a complete irrelevence whether Whitehawk play there or not, as Withdean without the other stands wouldn't even meet Conference South standards let alone Football League requirements.

If brighton were away and i wasnt going and whitehawk were at home in league 2 at a withdean with (and this is crucial) a new southstand with a roof. Then i would go, sure i wouldnt be alone.

Do they still want to take on Withdean after we leave?
Yes, apparently they do. When that happens they also apparently want to change their name, a bit like Wimbledon became MK Dons when they moved. 'The Hawks' is a favourite.

Sorry for all the 'apparentlys', I've got no firm evidence for any of this, I'm just repeating what a mate said, who is also a mate of someone senior at the club.

at home
now if Whitehawk got into the league, people on here will be wanking themselves into a fury over the "support your home town team" bollocks.
