I went to see next season's opposition in action today at Crawley.
I always thought the Conference was a good standard of football but Burton were pretty crap. OK they played with 10 men for an hour but Crawley were far better than them - I reckon Nigel Clough's desertion may cost them dear although they did have their two leading scorers out. Looked as though even the Albion - rubbish as we are at the moment - could beat them.
So there's hope for next season

For what it's worth Burton Albion are a good footballing team, they just need a proper manager, and if they get one in the summer I think they'll finish 15th/16th in L2 next season.

Burton looked very good when I saw them at Eastbourne Borough. But I thought Cambridge looked better when I saw them!!
