I Wonder, can newcastle actually win a game at last on monday night against middlesbrough ?? i thought their last game at home against portsmouth was the turning point for em., but ended up a dull, boring 0-0 draw....

...and terrible football, I thought Newcastle are doomed after that display, couldn't string passes together, couldn't get a goal with 5 strikers on the pitch.

the Portscum match was quite frankly relegation football, if the geordies cant win tomorrow then they are down and in hindsight thats probably the best thing for them!

I've just had a phone call from Alan Shearer. He's begging me to ask Uncle Spielberg to bet large on Middlesborough.

No, they'll draw both games against Middlesbrorough and Fulham, before losing at Villa on the final day :)

Crap Town
Middlesboro to win. That will seal Newcastle's fate.

I think it will be a draw. WBA have to stay up since we did and a draw will be the best result for them.

I reckon West Brom will get something against Liverpool and then stay up, I think Middlesbrough and Newcastle are DOOMED. Which is sad in a way, but nevermind.

Why is it sad?

In league football there are divisions. Each season teams get relegated (that means they go down to a lower division) and some teams get promoted (that means they go up a division - yippee!).

The teams that go down do so because they are not good enough to stay in that division. This is regardless of how many fans they have got. How good their ground is. How good the pies are. And how pretty their team shirts are.

The teams that get promoted (hooray!) do so because over the course of the season (sorry forgot to put that caveat in the above paragraph) they have been better on the football pitch field of play than the other teams in that in that division.

Draw from that what you will.

Ive drawn from it in the 25 years Ive been on this planet that it is sad if its your team that gets relegated and who gives a toss if its someone elses?

But then Im new to the game so what do I know?

What? Keegan has always done well at Newcastle. Took them from the relegation struggle of the old Division Two to runners-up in the Premier League. Then last season won the relegation battle and started brightly this season.

I'm absolutely CERTAIN that this match will end in a 'no help for either side' draw....probably 0-0.
