76 per cent possession but arguably Newcastle’s two goal scoring chances were more clear cut than Maupay’s two

Bollocks to any of you who don’t think this is the way to play football. We look class, just need a break. I fully expect to lose this game btw because we have absolutely no luck

All over them. Like Poyet football in L1....
Oh for a forward.....

Great Potter switched to 4 at the back as well halfway through, and we still dominated.

Enjoying this. Need to score though before Carroll comes on to score the fairy tale winner. We have been excellent so far

Montoya the only one who hasn't played well. Shown the control of a 15 year with his first porn mag

Ha ha! Love the description although I was only 13!

It's only a matter of time before we wear them down and nick it by a single goal. The introduction of Murray will see to that.

Never have I ever seen an Albion side dominate possession away to a bigger club like that in one half, whatever happens, Potter has grown confidence with the ball with the squad in such a short time. I can not see 76% of the possession figures for the second half.

Those boys are making themselves available so much.

Well done Potter and the lads.

Quality.

Surprised there’s such a positive reaction from most people, to that.
There’s been some nice moments and alzate has acquitted himself well.
But at the end of the day, we look as ineffective as much of last season, just ineffective in a different way.
Propper, Stephens, Gross, Montoya and Mooy aren’t threaTening going forward, at all. They’re scared. So what if they pass it around a lot , miles from goal. Our best bet remains maupay snaffling one from a deflection or whatever.
And don’t give me any of that negativity nonsense. Newcastle are there for the taking, and we clearly can’t get it together where it counts,

Not this.

Fully expecting a 92nd minute Toon winner though. If we don’t fully click today we’re going to soon.

We haven’t got the forwards with an end product, we rarely/never have in the PL, but this is light years ahead of our last 2 seasons away from home. Where we sat deep with 10 men behind the ball, with any unlucky striker left isolated upfield.

Cant call that excellent! Decent perhaps. But haven’t scored and it’s Newcastle not Nou Camp. We cannot score goals. But we’ve known that for 3 seasons.

Hear what you’re saying, but results matter and we won last year.

We have no penetration at all, 75% possession and nothing from it. Passing for the sake of it, unless it means something then this style is worthless

This is the cold hard truth. Shades of Poyet again. Tippy tappy pretty pappy football.

Frankly gobsmacked that some on here don’t think we are playing well and looking dangerous. Until we get some luck we are likely to keep losing though. We desperately need a break rather than the opposition as we have had none whatsoever this season so far.

I wonder if I am watching a totally different game to some on here

Exactly this. We have no clue in the final third. Could easily be a goal down too. Webster needs to quickly develop some defensive positional sense before he costs us another goal. Maupay won't pass a five yard square ball to Alzate to tap in. I like the style but it's thus far ineffectual.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
If we stay up this season we will totally demolish teams next year
I think somebody may also have said that last season as well. [emoji624]

Murray should be playing imho. Montoya a weak link again- not sure about him, I reckon the greyhound might have a serious part to play this year.
