I agree, you clearly don't understand noise willy waving. If you can say "their relentless engagement"about the Newcastle fans yesterday who in reality were very quiet for 80 mins then obviously you don't get it.

Well I assure you that in the ground they didn't sing much and not very loud until the last 10 mins.

It was but funnily enough although it was constant it wasn’t that loud but I noticed on highlights they sounded louder than they were .

Similar for us . The noise level of us under the roof in wsu was crackling . Decibel levels that was way up on anything for a while . Pretty impressive

I watched on Sky and the atmosphere sounded loud and proud. Was the constant loud repetitive chanting for the last 10 mins Toon fans? I ask because I did not recognise it

Yeh it was ‘show me the way to Barcelona’ and was constant but not very raucous. The word Barcelona sounds great in a Geordie accent though. But it really was weird they suddenly started singing and being audible at 3-0 - really did seem a bit staged - ‘we’re mental and we are mad us’ mmm

They are certainly decent fans and very passionate, but like their team they had an off day today. As others said quiet for most of the game then they suddenly all took their tops off, scarfs swinging in the air, singing some annoying song over and over about Barcelona, probably all that drinking kicked in.

I walked up the steps to the coach park in the middle of loads of them singing the Barcelona song. They were great in my opinion and I spoke to quite a few ... big smiling faces even thought they'd been given a football lesson. All said they love what's going on at Brighton. I'd rather interact with drunk Geordies than the aggressive behaviour we have from a number of other clubs after the game! Anyway ... here's a little clip of that song ...

'Big club'

Robbie Savage often discusses this important piece of pinotage with Chris Sutton. For example, Leicester being a bigger club than Celtic. It is extremely important to some people to be able to rank all clubs in order of bigness. The rules are that you make up the rules to suit whatever outcome you desire. Then the willy waving competition is conducted by gainsaying whatever the other bloke says.

By and large we don't engage with the Big Club conversation. After all, nobody wants to look like a Sheffield Wednesday fan.

Tend to be some of the best fans in the EPL. I've got a good mate who was born up there and had a season ticket but now lives in Berkshire. He'd normally be able to source a ticket but had to watch it at home instead this time. Had a whatsapp from him exactly on the full time whistle saying we deserved it and what great football we played. They clearly understand the game

Was chatting to some Geordies in the P&R queue. Long journey back home, in great spirits, very complimentary about our team - most certainly not the worst fans that have visited.

It felt kind of different yesterday, you could feel the buzz even in the Family Stand and the noise from the North Stand was very very impressive.
Do you think that Smug Eddie's switching ends tactic whipped up the atmosphere right from the start, well that's how it came across to me anyway.

The Newcastle fans outside were some of the friendliest away fans I have met and were very complimentary of the way we play and were happy to see us doing so well.
I loved the fact that so many stayed around to have a bit of a party at the end, for me, it just adds to the match day experience.

I thought the Newcastle fans for the first 75 mins were far quieter than normal, probably because they were concerned at how vulnerable Scharr and Burn were looking in the centre of their defence and also how nervous Pope looked with the ball at his feet.
I'm sure they would have been a much tougher side to beat if Sven Botman had been fit and if Beheady Howe had started Sean Longstaff.
They have always had a massive fan base and they now are the richest club in the Premier League, only held back currently by FFP.

They deservedly qualified for the Champions League last season and are a good side.
But at the Amex they deservedly lost, looked way off their best, their fans were subdued, only bursting into life when 3-0 down.

It had shades of England's Barmy Army all starting to sing when they used to be 8 wickets down for not many runs.

Great noise for the last 15 mins, but before that, nah.

Yep. Between our first goal and about the 80 minute mark they were completely silent, literally not a peep out of them. & then at 3-0 down started singing the same song for the last 10 minutes in a very obvious 'arent we great fans, we even sing when we're losing' kind of way... forgetting that their support had been awful for the previous 80 minutes when their team actually needed them. The fans I met on the P&R seemed fine, but very disappointed with their support in the ground.

This season they’ve adopted the same away ticket rules as us. Their fans this time seemed different to me, more replica shirts and singing the old songs. Quite a few coked up bellends singing the ‘mental Geordie’ song last season, no sign of it yesterday

Nope I 100% guarantee I would lose my MOJO if a Saudi consortium owned us. There would be a long queue for my ticket though I accept. There is no way I’d embrace them however much money they chucked at us. That’s just me though, I even get a bit starry eyed about our time at Withdean

These are the best days ever as an Albion fan though. Would I swap owners with Newcastle? Nah

I moved from row F in WSU to row A and the noise in the last 2 games has been significantly louder, not sure its the move so acoustics are better or whether we were just a lot more noisy than in previous years.

Regards the Newcastle fans , thought they made a reasonable amount of noise and then raised it a few notches towards the end ( i sit near the half way line) . As ever a mixed bunch , going up the coach park steps had a chat with one young lad , who clearly accepted we were better team. They then broke into the Barcelona song which I thought was great.
