6 new flavours of Walkers crisps have been released in the last few days; these flavours were the one's being advertised as create your own. They are:

Cajun Squirrel*
Fish and Chips
Chilli and Chocolate
Duck and Hoi Sin
Builder's Breakfast (bacon, buttered toast, eggs and tomato sauce)
Onion Bhaji

* Not actually squirrel, but a taste of chicken

Out of those, I'd probably say the chilli and chocolate one sounds the most appealing, so which will be NSC's favourite?

I imagine it's down to all the complaints they would get from the animal rights people, and also can you eat squirrel?

So why have em then??

You can eat the furry rodents. When I worked in commercial property I let a shop in Kensington Gardens that re-opened as Shifting Sands......it sold squirrel and closed down soon after as animal rights mob started protesting outside.........I would try it, dont think I would eat dog though, but would try most meats I think.

Duck and Hoi Sin is genius but it's hardly a new flavour - just one that Walkers don't do.

Fish and Chips could be good but I bet it won't be.

according to Ray Mears, squirrel gormet is increasing - they can certainly eat the bastards that dig up my bulbs

I voted duck and hoisin - sounds a natural given that it's normally served in a thin wrap.

Walkers did do Sausage & Onions Sensations for a while but stopped. No idea why - my daughter loved them.

Squirrel - did anyone try that restaurant in Kensington Gardens back in the 90's where they did actually serve squirrel? I went - good restaurant - but never had the squirrel. Was closed down when picketed by the Veggies/Animal Rights people.

Hugh F-W says they are good eating.

Why would people protest at squirrel more than any other meat? I'm assuming it wasn't red squirrel or anything?

Yes. Except Hoisin can be extremely sweet if done badly (see M&S Duck & Hoisin wrap).

Because of this, they will make horrible sickly sweet crisps that I can't stand. (Like those disgusting "temptations" varieties).

Crisps are meant to be SALTY and UNCOMFORTABLE - not sweet like chocolate!
