Since the app has arisen again, a short update. We're busy tidying up the code for the android version, and providing some new services, such as providing up to date information about the park and ride.
We're working on an ios version, but it won't be ready till later in the season.

We do plan to go stadium wide for the new season, about which we'll be announcing on NSC, seagulls mailing list and through the club closer to the first match. You're welcome to register http://www.sussex.ac.uk/affiliates/digitalStadium/participate.html to be kept up to date.

From thr 3 times I used it last season it was very good - it suffered a little from bandwidth issues around half time (I'm not sure if it runs on the same network as used by the press). Look forward to trialling it again next season.

My understanding of it (although I'm sure I will be corrected if wrong!) is that it doesn't run off a separate WiFi connection at all. It essentially networks together the phones of everyone running the app and harnesses our collective mobile network power into a connection strong enough that it actually works. Or something like that!

The name gives it away
Your right, it doesn't use WiFi, just everyone's mobile network. Was a bit patchy for me last season though it got better towards the end of the season. I thought it a bit heavy on battery use too but hopefully some of this will be ironed out for next season.
