Sorry to disappoint but if this isn't correct, I would think he would be number 7/8 next season anyway.

It obviously one of the usual suspects guessing, squad numbers are not registered with Football League until some time in July.

Also in case we do sign anyone good, they will want to keep one of the 1-11 numbers free for them (ie No 8 shirt).

None of the low squad numbers are vacant except 8 and 12. I doubt there will be much change.

I got Cox 29 on my shirt and he moved to 28 the next season.

Same with Robinson (33 to 30).
