Time for the her indoors and myself to get new phones. Nothing spectacular or in the £100's, heck it's only a phone.
Needs to be unlocked as we both use Lyca sims.
As my HD Camcorder has had it I'd like something that records HD video (or even UHD).
Amazon has Samsung A15 or A14 at around the £100 mark.
Any suggestions please.

No particular beef with Xiaomi (who, for the uniniated, are the world's 3rd largest manufacturer of phones) but they do seem to operate via a DFS-style perma-sale.

I've been tempted by the fabulous value-for-money of a (Xiaomi) Poco F phone, but am currently staying 'safe' with my Google Pixel.

After having dealings through myself and family with all the main phone manufacturers, I can honestly say without hesitation, Xiaomi is the best I've used (so far).
My current redmi 10 pro has a camera to rival any Sony, battery life is better than Samsung and I've dropped it without damage numerous times...unlike an iphone, where you mention dropping it and the screen breaks!
I'm like the OP, I need a phone for communication, not to run my life and in this respect, Xiaomi have all I need....the Poco series does look good though:cool:

My last phone was a Xiaomi and I was overall very happy with it. Can’t recall how much it cost but was in the very low hundreds. Very good camera.

I’ve since decided to finally treat myself to an iPhone but I’d happily recommend Xiaomi or, as someone else mentioned, Motorola. For the price, both are excellent value.
