Would be great if it was Coppell. I can't think of a single time in his career where he's not done well. Gets the best out of his players and has a good eye for a player.

Wise doesn't have experience managing at a higher level does he?

Curbishley would be good, but unlikley I'd guess.

Southgate?! Why would he? Why would we want him?

Is steve cotterill in work at the moment?

And coupled with his managerial credentials, of course, that's why I want him on board.

The timing's perfect and I'll be gutted if we miss this golden opportunity to reunite with the man that would be ideal for our transition into The Stadium of Bright and into The Championship.

He'll take the job if offered, I'm almost sure of it (and money shouldn't be any kind of issue.....we could offer him a decent salary now and there will be a competitive budget (TB will match his pocket to the ambition he's demonstrated with the RS decision)).

Please, please, PLEASE!PLEASE, Mr. B.......go get The Copp!!!

Brighton factually.....
What has Southgate acheived anyone at Middlesbrough ?

I know when i see him on match of the day after they have been beaten by Fulham or Bolton he just sounds so dull, I dont think he gives the impression of commanding the dressing room. Im sorry but if he shouted at me in at half time my mind would wonder back to the pizza hut adverts & i would just laugh at the guy.........

The manager has been decided, the reason for the delay in announcement is to allow him time to speak with his coaching candidates so that we have a new regime in place in one foul swoop. I think.
makes sense to me, can't believe for a second Bloom binned Russ without having a replacement signed up already. I'm preparing myself to be pleasantly surprised, he said, finger well and truly crossed....

God I hope its not bloody Wise I have many Millwall mates and most of them can't stand him. Would be very happy to see SC back at the Albion.

Coppell? A Palarse LEGEND - are you lot sure? Why the love-in with him? ....sake, shall we change our first kit, while we're at it, to red and blue stripes?

ABC - Anyone But Coppell.

He's a good manager, that's all that counts. His last spell at Palace ended 9 years ago for gods sake.

Why even bother to announce that 3 people are now currently in charge if a successor is coming in on Tuesday. Also if it is SC, who is currently unemployed, why wait till Tues just announce him now???

Spot on.

I understand that Wise's name came up at the shareholders' AGM a few weeks ago and the mood was very anti with some threatening to withdraw money etc. That's not to say TB won't go for him but it would be in the face of internal opposition.

I didn't hear about the withdraw money comments. However I'm sure it will play large in Ken Brown's mind that there's nothing wrong with li'l Dennis as he got him to a cup final (which is I understand the comment he has used to defend Wise's record). Why dont we go the whole hog and appoint Jimmy Melia as first team coach after all, he got me to a cup final as well.

The Mirror and many tabloids had Dennis Wise in the frame before we stayed up last May and I understand that particular story had been placed quite carefully with many papers at the same time. If he gets the job now it may demonstrate how accurate that story was and therefore ask questions about who placed that story then

I understand that Wise is not the first choice, hence the article in the Times.

My worst nightmare is listening to the press conference and they say

...And I`d like to introduce the new brighton manager, Steve Co..., then the radio cuts out and I`m beeming that its coppell, I get the radio tuned in again and its Steve Cotterill!!!! Aaaarrrgghh!!!!!! Hoof Hoof Hoof!!!!!

why does anyone think he`d be good for us??? Quite apart from the neck strain of forever looking skywards, he`s hardly championship material is he?

I seriously hope he isn't second, third, fourth or fifth choice either (or sixth for that matter)

If Wise does get it then i'm sure the stayaways would be welcomed at any of the local sides where you will get just as much entertainment and not pay top dollar for it.

That pleases me. I had heard Wise was looking to front a consortium to buy into Charlton but (and I am prepared to look foolish if he gets the job and we do well with him) I really dont want Dennis Wise as our manager.
