Way out West
Good to see some of the other EPL kits - Southampton's is easily the worst (imho), closely followed by Palace and Bmuff. Really like Forest's - a classic.

I'm thinking that my Scottish team Partick Thistle may have just lowered the bar to near ground zero by riffing on seriously scary mascot Kingsley

I genuinely don't see how those sleeves are a nod to climate change awareness!

What am I missing ??

Each line and it's colour represents the rising temperatures over the past 50 years or so. The more blue, the cooler that year, the more red, the hotter etc

Sake.

I wish I hadn't asked now. Hope they get relegated (but then I always do).

How on earth do they not see the irony in having that on their sleeves as they release (like everyone else thesedays ffs) a whole new set of kits, training kits, other gear etc for the umpteenth year in a row when fast fashion is one of the leading issues related to climate change? Pretty depressingly typical of the world we live in and greenwashing/sportswashing, etc, though :ffsparr:

Edit: with a car leasing company as sponsor too

Kieran Maguire, a senior lecturer in football finance at the University of Liverpool, said some clubs were being affected by the impact of Covid in Asia, where many factories are based, with production limited due to restrictions.

He said a shortage of container ships and disruption at ports was also contributing to the issue.

However, he told the BBC the financial impact on most elite clubs would be limited as they are generally paid a fixed amount by manufacturers for the season, with only around 7% commission per unit sold.

"I think fans are fairly sanguine in relation to this," he said, adding that fans who wanted the kit would still buy it when it was available.

Mr Maguire added that the other peak market for clubs was Christmas and the issue should be resolved by then.

He said smaller clubs were more likely to be affected, as manufacturers would prioritise bigger clubs who sell more shirts.

I like that - just imagine it in blue and white with an angry seagull on the bottom half. Not entirely sure what to do with the shorts though - maybe a reversion to the deckchair stripes kit for them.

What he actually said.

Today (or maybe yesterday) seems to be the day for players photos in the new kits. A few photos are coming through on their social media accounts. And although the home kit is far from our best, it does look a whole lot better when seen on the players in combo with the shorts/socks rather than those promo shots, or Norman Cook wearing it.

Oh. Geniunely thought it was famous enough.

I'm perhaps guilty of climate-crisis fatigue. Yes yes I know its a huge issue, no I'm not denying it.

But I watch / go to football for a bit of an escape from the depressing issues of the day. Sadly, football has gradually become a larger and larger conduit for every cuffing issue there is thats out there.
