Can we sign him though as I thought the free transfer deadline was at the same time as the loan window closed?

It's a bit weird though, intit? I can't remember being sworn to secrecy about any signing at the Albion. If I'd had time to stick the Brezovan thing on here I would have just blurted it out and admitted it's not definite - it's only the Albion fercrissakes.

Ben I had a dream about you the other night, you had a huge beard for some reason.

And yes, it was sexual in nature.

I had a dream about your missus the other night. Actually it wasn't a dream etc etc etc

Might grow a beard at Christmas. I guess you won't get to see it unless I end up in Creation on Christmas Eve again. Here's hoping.

Very tall skinny bloke, I have a feeling he saved a penalty or two on his Swindon debut, thus gaining hero status, but then faded to be replaced by Phil Smith, that crap, short bloke who used to play for Crawley.

At the risk of being (hilariously) labelled a Swindon fan :)yawn:) again, I have seen Brezovan play more often than the majority of you and he's not very good. Seriously. He stays on his line, he doesn't dominate a thing and for every wonder save he'll make, he'll let in two soft goals.

I hate to be unfair on the bloke, but right now that's a major improvement on no wonder saves and two soft goals per game....

I would rather have Smith in goal than Brezovan any day of the week. But because of his size, people at Swindon were convinced he was a top goalkeeper. He had trials with Everton and Spurs (when Poyet was number 2), which fuelled the belief he was classy, when in reality, he's not. He's never been a #1, he was at Swindon until Crawley's finest ousted him and then even took the number off his back. Before that he played (well, occaisonally) for FC Brno in Slovakia and a couple of provincial sides, but never made much of an impression. He was introduced to Dennis Wise when he was at Millwall, and then when Wise needed a keeper after taking over at Swindon, he gave Brezovan a call. To be fair, he saved 2 penalties on his debut at Hartlepool (Swindon winning 1-0 completely unjustly) and was labelled a hero, but the penny soon dropped. He horrifically broke his arm and was the never same again. He might be a decent #3, but he's not someone who is going to improve us much. In my opinion, of course.

You're not just saying that because you're instinctively opposed to us signing anyone who plays in the same position as Michel Kuipers, are you?

Of course I'm not, if we sign a better goalkeeper than Michel, then obviously that's a good thing. But so far, we haven't. And Brezovan is NOT better, just look at the goals we scored against him. Forster's freekick in 2007, for example. That was shocking goalkeeping, no question. Even Forster's first at Swindon last december was poor positionally.

If Gus would like to sign Owain Fon Williams from Stockport, for example then obviously I'd be in favour of that because he is, without question, a better goalkeeper in my opinion. Smith is not, and neither is Brezovan. Brezovan has done bugger all in his career, he had trials with Crewe, Cheltenham and Bristol City over the summer but none of them wanted him. Does that not tell you something?

I can never understand that when we were going through the Stockport squad last year akin to the Germans going through France in WW2 we didn't sign Fon Williams as well.
