Ok, so ive been playing football for 14 years now, and in all that time ive still never managed to work out how to stop a new pair of boots giving me blisters, escpecially on my heel.

Now there are plenty of other footballers on this site, so any tips and hints you might have will be greatly received.

My feet are killing me this morning..:(

I wear thin ankle socks underneath the proper footy socks, helped with my new astroturfs and never got a blister.

Ditto - I used to get endless blisters, but wearing normal sports socks underneath stopped them completely. I guess the boots make a difference as well - the blisters were worst with my current predators, before the introduction of the socks.

If they are not yellow don't wear them.

You have to be good to wear boots that are any colour other than black, and very good to wear white ones. And yes, you automatically become a target for a lumbering centre-half like me.

On the subject of the thread, a pair of sports socks under the football socks has always worked for me too.

It seems like sports socks is the answer then.

No use taking taking a file out or anything on the offending area then ?

Sports socks and vaseline on the offending area, though you will have the mankiest socks in the team afterwards.
Other than that go barefoot everywhere for two weeks - that'll harden your pansy, fairy liquid feet up.

Far too late in my Sunday morning career I have found the answer to blisters. Go to Millets (obviously check that there is nobody around who could recognise you first!) and get some 1000 mile line socks.

They are like two thin pairs of sicks sewn together so if the outer layer moves the inner layer doesn't. Worked for me and a couple of my team mates bought them this season and agree that it works for them.
