New bird for Boddingtons

Former model and TV actress Alison King has been unveiled as the face of the new Boddingtons beer advertising campaign.

Ms King, who starred in hit television shows Cold Feet, Cutting It and Coupling, is to follow in the footsteps of former Boddies girl Melanie Sykes.

She launched the new ad campaign at a trendy Manchester nightspot, The Circle Club, which once refused entry to US megastar Justin Timberlake because he was not on the guestlist.

The 5ft 5in actress, who also worked on Sky One's football drama Dream Team, posed for photographers while cradling a pint of the locally-brewed beer.

She said she was delighted with the advert, which will be screened on May 3.

She said: "I was thrilled to be chosen as the girl to deliver the infamous end line in a Boddingtons advert."
