At least 2 of our group have to collect for Wolves, which is slightly problematic when there's no trains meaning none of us want to go anymore.

Mine came with names but only 3 of the 4 ordered and on the receipt is has a "collection" marked for one of my mates.

At least 2 of our group have to collect for Wolves, which is slightly problematic when there's no trains meaning none of us want to go anymore.

I don't know if mine will be sent or have to be collected but otherwise I'm in the same boat. I won't be going unless the train strike is miraculously called off.

Not sure what the club are playing at to be honest, I can understand doing this random ticket collection at Brentford that has a small away section and it’s a fairly local match, but not for Man City.

My sons and their friends traveled up to Manchester on Friday, one lad received an email after they had left saying their ticket was cancelled and to collect a new one at City, obviously also showing photo ID.
Far too late to send the email IMO, this sort of thing needs sorting out at least midweek for a Saturday match.
Luckily the lad had photo ID with him.

I think fair play to fans that travel to away games hundreds of miles away when there are train strikes, but the club don’t need to mess them around with stuff like this.

Not sure I see the problem because we already know there may be random checks as well as those that have to get replacement tickets so should already have ID with him.

Well plenty saw it as an issue, what’s the matter Drew, bored and nobody arguing with you today?

As mentioned I think if the club want fans to collect tickets at an away ground (when a ticket has already been posted and cancelled) at least 3 days notice isn’t too much to ask, not notify fans the day before….don’t piss fans about that have traveled many miles.
Fans shouldn’t have to worry about taking a passport or driving licence to a football match, I don’t take mine to the Amex.
As mentioned by many Albion fans random ID checks have not been carried out at the turnstiles at Brentford and Man City.

Two of our party had to collect tickets at city. It was no big issue but seems it is a bit of a drama for some. If people hadn't been found to abuse the system the club wouldn't have introduced this but you carry on.

Yep. Having to pick your ticket up probably adds……what, 2-3 mins to your day ?? Process is there as a deterrent now to loyalty point gaming (and was evidently needed given the numbers that failed to collect at Brentford), so we’re going to have to suck up the very minor occasional inconvenience

To be fair (and I don't have an issue with this in general) it can be quite a lot more than that at some places.
I had to pick my ticket up at Old Trafford last season, I'd guess that added the best part of half an hour by the time I'd found the ticket office and walked back to the away end.
I also accidentally saved the shopkeeper in an off license that turned out to sell bottles of Dark Star from a pair of Leeds supporting scallywags who were trying to kick up a fuss. And then missed the last train back to Leeds. It was quite an evening all told.

I agree with preventing the loyalty point gaming, but I think the club maybe need to rethink the refund or ticket transfer policy, with the current strikes, I will have three people who WERE going with me not going now, so have three empty seats. True but if the club stick to their word and have their own collection point then you won't have to mix with home fans where there are likely to be many more collecting tickets.

I'd guess that'll depend on the set up around the away end, whether they can fit a collection point in (I could imagine it being slightly problematic at Turf Moor, for example).
My problem at Old Trafford wasn't that I had to queue, it was that the ticket office is miles away.
Edit: yes, I had forgotten that they're going to have separate collection points when I wrote my previous post.

Completely agree………I had a Brentford ticket but a change of plans meant I couldn’t go, absolutely nothing I could do with the ticket, so an empty seat.

Yes, three days NOT the day before to notify someone by email, it really isn’t too much to ask.
Not everyone checks their emails on their phone, as I also mentioned these fans travelled on the Friday, luckily they saw the late email.

One of my sons had to collect his ticket from Brentford but he knew well in advance (not the day before) and it wasn’t a problem.
Why didn’t they do this for City, a game much further away and with a larger away section?

You carry on being bloody minded and thinking it’s fine for the club to announce by email for fans to collect another ticket 24 hours before kick off.

Collecting the ticket isn’t the issue Dazzer, it’s being told to do it the day before the match.
It’s a very simple point……notifying fans a few days before the match would be good.
