New name for me - S. Peck. Anyone know anything about him?

Also a player named J.Gee came on in the second half... I await AZ Gulls all-knowing information.

Sydie Peck:

He has come up through the Arsenal academy system. He is an U-16 this season and was expected to be offered his scholarship, but the fact that he is trialing for us suggests it didn't materialise, for some reason. He is a midfielder with good passing skills who can also find the net. He possesses good leadership qualities, apparently.

Jake Gee moved from Barnet to Fulham at U-12 level. He is a versatile midfielder who can also play on the wing. He featured on this list of top 10 wonderkids
I think he is another U-16 this season.

Harry Lee was on the bench today - he is an U-15 in the Albion academy, but has already been offered his scholarship (which won't commence until the summer of 2022). He is from Horsham, used to play as a winger before moving to right-back. He played for the Learn Play Achieve academy before joining Albion for his U-14 season in the summer of 2019.

Somehow you always exceed my expectations! All very positive. It sounds like you already have a fair idea of next season's scholarship intake? I've got - Ferguson, Hinshelwood, Duffus, Smith, Jenks, Reid, Fisher, with the possibility of Peck & Gee also now. Already looking forward to 'New Albion scholars 2021-22'.

Tom Iorpenda (who has been in the Albion academy since U-9 level) has also been offered his scholarship. He was born in London but schooled in Brighton. His younger brother is also in the academy.

A couple of other U-16s have also, I believe, been given an opportunity to stay on at the club without (yet) having been given their scholarships. That was the situation George Cox found himself in back in 2014, and he was able to ultimately earn his scholarship, so it isn't necessarily the end of the road for them if they choose to stay on.

Villa's keeper made some howlers there.

Thanks. For future reference can you tell me how you embed the video into the post not just a link?

As for the mistakes shown by both sides, both sides had five u16s playing so not too surprising I guess.

It's a rather dull contribution to this thread (especially in comparison with one or two regular contributors to it), but thought I'd flag this up from today's BBC rumours:

Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring Brighton's Irish midfielder Andrew Moran, 17. (Team Talk)

So if the address of the tweet is
Code:
https://twitter.com/OfficialBHAFC/status/[U]1386962543546093570[/U]
take the long number after status/ and put tweet tags on it:

HTML:
 [tweet]1386962543546093570[/tweet]

which tells NSC to display the tweet in the post. Make sure the slash is going the correct way when closing the tag.

Nathan Jenkins in the first XI again today in a strong side despite the cup final on Wednesday. Is there a possibility he might get a contract after all AZ Gull? Or simply giving Sturge/ Nillsson a rest before the cup final and giving him the best chance of gaining a contract elsewhere?

Glad to see the Albion taking the derby seriously though.

Despite being offered a scholarship by Albion, Iorpenda has chosen to take up the offer of a scholarship from Huddersfield Town.

It would seem that Jake Gee will definitely commence his scholarship with Albion in the summer - just found his instagram page today and he shows himself as being an Albion player:-

He was also playing for the Albion U-16s a couple of weeks before he featured for the U-18s against Villa.

I haven't seen any definitive information yet that Sydie Peck has signed for Albion from Arsenal.

As far as I know, the current list of new scholars for 2021-22:-

From the current Albion U-16s - Joshua Duffus, Hugo Fisher, Jack Hinshelwood, Eliot Jenks, Tommy Reid and Bailey Smith.
From outside the club - Evan Ferguson, Jake Gee.

Would be delighted to hear from anyone who has news on other new scholars for the season ahead.

A player called Jed Ward? Amazing.
