Don't Mention The War

If I hear his name mentioned one more time I might just scream!

HE HAS GONE, GET OVER IT!!

Fragmented Badger said:I am not perfect on these matters too, and make no secret of the fact that I have a few targets in this albion squad who have been here too long, and just aren't producing anything to make their wages worthwhile. I too would give criticism out at a ground if I felt it was deserved. I don't think the two you mentioned are too much harsher than that usually. However, I gather yesterday they were on the back of 24 hours solid drinking, and probably do like the sound of their own voices a little too much. They also lost any possible respect by abusing players from the first whistle. Compare this to the rest of us around there (which you must obviously have been one), who were obviously frustrated and angry, but not insulting, and you can see why these two "stuck out," let's say.
Fragmented Badger said:I know what you mean. I drove there AND had to act responsibly in front of the missus, so drinking was always going to be non-existent. It was one of those games where a few pints may have made it easier to laugh at, but in a sober state it was always going to be painful viewing. Last night was concrete proof of why the TRAIN is always best to away games!
Uncle Buck said:What I would say about getting the train as one of my travel colleagues now knows from Saturday is that 2 bottles of red wine and a large glass of port before arriving in Carlisle is not a good plan. The fact he got in the ground was a miracle...
Ernest said:It's not the players fault that the squad is threadbare and getting barer every game and not the players fault we have a UNTRIED inexperienced kids coach as the manager.
As long as whoever is wearing the stripes gives 100% effort and commitment to the team that is all a supporter can ask.
Uncle Spielberg said:"There's an umployed manager working for sky, Has got teams out of this league at every time of asking and he is commited and loyal.
Scottish bloke, nice fella. Was hounded out of his last club despite getting them to their highest league finish in about 15 years.
Cant remember his name though."

Is that the bloke who got the club promoted in his first season, kept the club up in the championship when no one had done before, turned down offers from bigger clubs because he was committed to the Albion and was loyal , took the team down but with having to sell very single player of any worth or value, having no ground or facilities and no real money for wages or transers and then was 10 seconds away from 3 wins out of 3 and a cup win and was then sacked after 7 games for a youth team manager who has now lost 3 in a row and counting
im no mcghee fan but iv heard it from the horses mouth he turned down being stachans number 2 when he took over at celticSouthover Street Seagull said:When in his time did McGhee turn down offers from bigger clubs to stay with us? Can you please name the clubs and the times it was supposed to happen?
This is also the man that said that losing to Stoke 5-1 at home on the last day of the season was irrelevant.
As other people have said on here, McGhee has gone get over it.
i was just along from the jock had a bit 2 say for himself thats for sureGully said:...on a similar note, did anyone else hear someone with a Scottish accent shouting at one of our players to get stuck in and stop playing like a poof!
Fragmented Badger said:Yep, I know who we are talking about here. Dare I admit it, these two are actually friends of mine! They were obviously pissed up to their eyeballs, which is I presume why they were wearing smirnoff boxes on their heads, and the abuse of Mayo did start from the off. I'm not too sure about Carpenter though, I think Mayo, Henderson, and Revell came in for the most grief from the two you mention. If you saw them, then I imagine you saw me too - I was just to their right standing with my girlfriend. As for those laughing at he who shouts loudest, I'm not sure there was THAT much of that going on. I for one may have raised a smile at the sheer ridiculous nature of it all, but as for actually finding it FUNNY I doubt there were many. The "group" included quite a few NSCers actually who can shed more light - John Boy, SDC, and Rumble to name three. I am all for criticising when we are shit, but last night it did go too far from some. I'm not saying the targets were wrong (in fact i stood there muttering about bloody Carpenter for much of the first half), but the timing and manner of criticism was apalling.

Theatre of Trees said:So if another Alan Mullery turned up you'd turn him down because he lacks experience? And what about Cattlin your favourite manager? If DK turned to another untried sweet shop owner you'd be spitting out your dummy faster than you could say tried and tested. What an absolute cretin you are.
It makes me laugh some of the shite that gets aired on here.
Fragmented Badger said:I think you will find he has a wealth of talent in the world of TV sales
Ernest said:Boothroyd when he got the job at Watford Keith Burkinshaw was his assistant, Wilkins gets a clown so how does that compare ?
Ernest said:Mullery had a chairman with pots of money and a very experienced squad and as a former England captain he was able to persuade the likes of Lawrenson to join us.
Cattlin also had an experienced squad as well as money to strengthen the side and the contacts to get good players in, do you remember Danny Wilson ?
Wilkins has no experience of league football as a coach/manager and his only assistant is a joke figure whose only talent seems to be bringing back the duty frees on his scouting trips abroad.
How can you compare Wilkins with Mullery or Cattlin ?
Theatre of Trees said:Neither Mullery or Cattlin had experience as a league manager either before coming to us. Mullery inherited a squad Taylor had almost got promoted the season before whilst Cattlin was able to rebuild with some of the money gained from selling the likes of Foster, Robinson and Stevens. Both in an unarguably different position to what Wilkins is in at the moment. I also seem to recall Cattlin had a run of indifferent results when he took over.
The point is this in all three cases there was no league manager experience, to get experience you need to be in the job to have a go then be judged over a period of time. To actually start judging now is absolutely ridiculous.
