why is it bullshit, if you want Wilkins out fine, but I want a bloody name to take his place. If you think he's not good enough, fine but I still want a name. I want a name that will be happy to work in the environment that is the Albion, that is happy with the expectations of the fans and more importantly has a track record working on a very small budget. Now, until we get a name that can do that then I stick with Wilkins. Dave penny is a possibility but would he move south?

As for experience .. .. ask Watford fans.
totally agree deportivo what do we want to go rushing in2 leave things as they are until we get the rite man

I am probably on dodgy ground here as I have laid into players before (Burnley away, but I gave McCammon a bit of time to be shite). However last night was a real eye opener for me. Two individuals in particular, early 20’s, Smirnoff Ice hats etc, from the start of the game were laying into Mayo and Carpenter, before they had done anything. Was there any need lads?

look sonny, wilkins is nowhere near , never has been and never will be good enough to be manager of this great football club.

Would you have said the same a couple of years back if Ade Boothroyd was on his way?

You have absolutely nothing to back-up your statement Uncle Spielberg, and I don't begin to understand why you should be so against him.

Not really Wilkins fault is it. He has been left with a squad of youth and past it players. Basically we sold out best players (some for no reason apart from our former manager didn't like them) and never replaced them (again our former manager) . Until he is able to bring in a few loan players to put a bit of experience in the team i think it is unfair to judge him

Not really on dodgy ground - we all know you're a weasel and a seagull murderer (what's the body count now?).

But if anyone is going to turn up just to abuse the team, I'd rather they didn't. I'd rather they f***ed off home or stuck their head into a bucket of cat sick.

They are fairly vocal about those 2 players on here (which is fine, this is the place to do that stuff), but from the off neither Carpenter or Mayo could do anything without them being laid into.

Totally right Rookie, we now have three of our most experienced players on the injury list (Oatway, Hinsh and Reid), one is now out for the season and we can't be certain when the other two will be ready to play, or indeed what contribution they will be able to make. Given the fact that you highlight, about selling off our best players to survive, it is a miracle that we are performing at the level we are. The majority of the team last night were produced by the club and directly, or indirectly, as a result of the man currently in charge of the team. I don't know if he is the long term solution to our managerial vacancy, but I am certain that he is trying to get the best out of what he has available. If we are to halt the slide or make any impression on this division then we require a couple of new signings (loanees) and quick.

Those were the little twats I mentioned in another thread giving Hendeson shit. Just stay away. No club needs supporters like you.

A few years back, I'm sure that people laying into OUR own players like that would have been shouted down by the other Albion fans around them, assuming that they clearly had it in for them; no-one's saying don't ever slate our players. Maybe that needs to start happening again - gobshites like that will back off sharpish when challenged.

Laying into players happens, normally due to frustration at the current performance, I know I did it to McCammon at Burnley, but these 2 in particular started on Mayo and Carpenter as soon as the game had started. There was no need.

The trouble is some of those around them found it funny, the usual laughing with he who shouts loudest. Collective brain cell must of been on loan.

Criticism through frustration is one thing, but last night was wrong.

If they post on here can you name and shame them?

Yep, I know who we are talking about here. Dare I admit it, these two are actually friends of mine! They were obviously pissed up to their eyeballs, which is I presume why they were wearing smirnoff boxes on their heads, and the abuse of Mayo did start from the off. I'm not too sure about Carpenter though, I think Mayo, Henderson, and Revell came in for the most grief from the two you mention. If you saw them, then I imagine you saw me too - I was just to their right standing with my girlfriend. As for those laughing at he who shouts loudest, I'm not sure there was THAT much of that going on. I for one may have raised a smile at the sheer ridiculous nature of it all, but as for actually finding it FUNNY I doubt there were many. The "group" included quite a few NSCers actually who can shed more light - John Boy, SDC, and Rumble to name three. I am all for criticising when we are shit, but last night it did go too far from some. I'm not saying the targets were wrong (in fact i stood there muttering about bloody Carpenter for much of the first half), but the timing and manner of criticism was apalling.

I think that is a fairly good summary of it all.

As I said I am far from perfect on these matters, but I tend to give it a bit of the game before I lose it with players and since McCammon has gone losing it with players seems to be something that happens less and less....

...on a similar note, did anyone else hear someone with a Scottish accent shouting at one of our players to get stuck in and stop playing like a poof!
