This is indeed very impressive, however it's quite a short time frame to take too much judgement - it's too early to tell whether the Cucurella/White transfers were exceptions or whether we can pull in the same amounts on a yearly basis.
I'd be interested in the same stats for the last 3 years, and last 5 years - and even more so to see what they are in the next 3 years.

Ajax are like this on a much bigger scale. However a tipping point was reached with them and now they are rubbish. Need to avoid that scenario and try and not sell all the good players !

We leapfrogged Ajax in the ELO ratings this week, to move into 18th in the European rankings. For a team who have never played in a European competition and from such a small city, this really is extraordinary in itself.
Had a look at it recently... Last 3 years is still a small profit if I've done the math correctly. Last 5 years is a small deficit IIRC as it includes the 2018 and 2019 transfer windows where there was a fair bit of investment to keep the team up, while not really selling anything of value.
Didn't realise Palace have spent so much! And West Ham....that's an awful lot for a team in 17th...

Shows that the 'Newcastle Miracle' has quite a large financial basis.
Of course. When Brighton went up, Southampton and Crystal Palace were both already quite "established" in the PL and were past the "trying to rebuild a Championship top squad into a decent PL one"-phase which is usually means a few very costly couple of transfer windows.

Negative net spend is lower than I expected on assumption that timeframe includes '21 summer window - ie Ben White sale. From memory the big sales since (and not including 20m for Potter) are:
White - 50m
Burn - 13m
Bissouma - 30m
Cucurella - 60m
Ostigaard - 10m
Maupay - 20m
That's 183m, with probably 10-15m to add from the smaller (ie <10m) fees for players like Clarke, Molumby, Longman, Gykores, Tau etc. Have we really paid out fees in the region of 140m in the same timeframe??

Almost every time I see Newcastle play one of the pundits says something along the lines... 'its amazing what a job Eddie Howe has done while the club has not gone mad with transfers like people expected'. But since the takeover they have signed... Chris Wood, Kieran Trippier, Matt Targett, Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes, Nick Pope, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak, and Loris Karius. So thats 2 new goalkeepers, an entirely new defence, 2 new strikers, and a centre mid. Maybe its not 'mad' investment yet but its still considerable upgrade to their starting 11. You'd be very disappointed if we signed 9 new players for the first team and didnt see improvement.
To be fair Isak has hardly played. Trippier was a free wasn’t he ? the biggest turn around and fair play to Eddie is Joelinton & Almiron

Trippier was about £12-15m. Im not disagreeing that in places they've spent wisely, but from the way it gets talked about by some of the pundits you'd think the Saudi's were yet to invest a penny in the team. Quite often the word 'miracle' gets used for their improvement.
True but there is also a clear time lag between spending and success.
Amazing in itself, really.

Many of those fees you quoted had add-ons, such that there was varied reporting of them. I think you've got the initial fee right for White and Burn, but my memory says that the starting fees were:

In terms of what we've paid, many of the youngsters have had large fees. Off the top of my head (and I'm not sure of the starting date), these include the mooted (because undisclosed) figures of:
