Can't we keep him for the first 10 games of the season?

Take it!

I should add that if Maupay goes without another striker coming in t then the risk we are taking is high

Serial A relegation zone

You can do all that in a one-er you know, without splattering B.W.2 messages all down the page.

And it would save telling us 'Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk' multiple times too.

I thought it best to respond individually to the comments of others. Admittedly, two posts regarding Maupay’s ‘exciting’ Italian opportunity

Of the strikers who are out of contract next year, certainly the top 10:

And how many of those are realistic?

How on earth can Maupay only be worth £16m if Bereton Diaz is worth £14m. I guess more to the point how can Bereton Diaz be worth £14m?
Maupay only has a year left on his contract.

If we haven't offered him a new contract (or he has stated he won't sign one if offered) then he is in the last year of his contract. Fee now, smaller fee in January, or SFA next summer. I think he cost us £20M or so, so we're unlikely to recoup that. As an opening offer, £15M ain't bad. Could maybe try and push for 1 or 2 million more, but for a lower level Serie A team they're probably stretching their resources pretty hard to raise £15M.

No way am I clamouring for him to go, but all in all, in the last year of his contract, with apparantly £15M on the table ...................... well, it makes sense. With Potterball, it's never going to be about getting like-for-like replacements anyway.
Don’t think it was as much as £20m. Only Webster cost that much I believe.
From AN in The Athletic- The Athletic understands from Italian sources that the offer is worth around £15 million (€17.6m).

That would represent a small profit on Maupay, who was bought from Brentford three years ago for £14 million.

Fair enough. If, for whatever reason we are potentially open to offers, £15M isn't a bad one.

I can't help thinking about the numerous games at the end of last season where he was on the bench and then left straight down the tunnel after the game instead of with his teammates and clapping the fans.

Aspinal kept banging on about it.

Wonder if he'd decided to leave then and asked his Agent to get himself another club.

In a very stroppy French way.

I’ve had a hunch he’s going since late last season. He understandably wants to play, wasn’t starting, and now we have Undav as well, who seems a very similar player. And only a year left on his contract. It makes sense to replace him with someone different who gives us more variety/ options. Would be good to have someone more athletic, with some pace up front as a different option - Iheanacho would be great.

Warren was fundamentally wrong on that and it’s terrible he kept repeating it. It happened once, and he came back out. Potter said he needed the toilet so went and came out.

One of the games (can’t remember which) he was one of the only subs that did actually come onto the pitch and walk round.

Warren pointed it out at several away games toward the end of the season, and the kid behind me noticed Maupay doing it at one home game toward the end (possibly Man Utd?). So it wasn't just once. And Potter said he didn't know, and supposed it was a need for the toilet. He also, not long after it happened, made a point of praising Danny Welbeck for his professionalism and patience when not involved from the start, which many thought was a pointed comment.

He came back out for post match warm downs every time.

I'm not saying warren was right to bang on about it, but he definitely highlighted it happening multiple times. Though also in the early aftermath of the season there was also an article (possibly an interview with a player) that seemed to suggest there was a player in the squad that needed to poo a lot on match days. I didn't see the full article, but did wonder if that was Neal and why he kept rushing off.

Warren loves creating a narrative. Is anyone arsed when Jason Steele hasn’t gone on the pitch after the game ? It’s Glenn Murray not clapping the fans / Ashley Barnes is a mardy so and so all over again. Like is said in one of the last few games Neal WAS one of the only unused subs to go on the pitch and clap our needy fans so one situation is being used to create a narrative

And that player is Lallana who has an issue (crohns ?) which he tries to ‘manage’ if I call

Warren is just calling it as he sees it shirley?
