She's got no hope while muppets like Johnson and Raab are running the show here.

Pay Iran the £400m FFS. It’s not like we actually don’t owe them that, who is the pariah state here? Sentencing coincided with the hearing to pay back what we owe Iran being postponed for an 11th time.

This. They bought some stuff of us, we didn't deliver the goods. Refund them and retain some of the moral high ground. Hopefully that would improve relations between two countries and also get her released.

People are like a new weapon for despots. Hundreds fleeing tyranny arriving on our shores become our problem and who knows a little subterfuge too probably. Those with links like her can be used as pawns. Despicable regime and yet if we intervened they all rally for alli and we’re in the wrong. Unsympathetic as it sounds, if mixed nationality then these are the risks that come with visiting family in such regimes. Same for Chinese amongst many others. Come to the West and you’re better staying in the West, leaving old life behind forever. Safer. Especially in age of mass surveillance. Friend of mine for pulled by US Homeland because his Facebook had a picture of a Iranian diplomat in a family wedding photo. They’d linked that to his passport ID in case he every came to the US. Shows how easy and extent to which we’re all being watched.

You have to say, with them two in support, you’d be better off getting hold of a small rock hammer and a poster of Raquel Welch

The debt actually dates back to non delivery of Chieftan tanks from an order placed by the then Shah of Iran in 1979. That won't be complicated then

Had a quick Google to this and hopefully someone will find more information but it appears that orders were placed between 1971-1979 now wouldn't that involve but Labour and Tory governments at the time ?

I think I read that paying them would be in breach of international sanctions.

Presumably that's wouldn't have been the case for the entirety of the 40 years, do you , or anyone, know what our side of the story, or case for not paying is?
