 Great result for us at palace last night. Bloody hell though, what a shit hole - I thought I was on the outskirts of Calcutta instead of London.

They wern't feeling very 'glad all over' last night anyway :lolol:

Ah, your first visit to Thorton Heath? I feel guilt for not warning you!

And Swansea is such a great place?

It's the hanging gardens of Babylon compared to your gaff mate. I'll post some Swansea pictures and you can match a few from the Croydon area for comparison ???

I like you Natterjack. Even if you had nothing to do with Falmer, I'd still like you.

Top posting.

From the Palace Programme last night

Alex Warner reminiscing :-

I remember it all started to go wrong on Boxing Day 1979 as we lost 3-0 in our first ever top flight encounter with Brighton, during the peak of our rivalry, with the Seagulls in our Shadows like a rancid smell as we climbed the divisions..... I recall the humiliating score appearing on the television just after we'd watched the film "Towering Inferno" and experienced a near burning hell of our own as the light in the lounge overheated causing a panic almost as bad as when my brother came home late from the Goldstone and told the tale of fighting between Palace and Brighton fans

Christ, they weren't even playing Albion. What an embarrassing piece of journalism

I know I'm in a tiny minority here but I love the Croydon skyline. I watched it being built from my home on Sanderstead hill in the 1960s and they called it 'mini-Manhattan' because at the time it was one of the few places in Britain with a group of 'skyscrapers' next door to each other. Plus it had an underpass, a fly-over, multi-story car parks, a shopping centre and everything. Cutting edge was Croydon in about 1965.

Depends in which context it was written.
