I found this absolutely staggering but if you got four numbers on the lottery last night, you only won an outrageous £12.:censored:

How the f*** do Camelot-or whoever runs it now, get away with blatantly ripping off punters? There's been some low amounts before but this one takes the piss hands down.:wozza:

PRIZE MONEY
6 Numbers = £264,490
5 Numbers + bonus = £9,924
5 Numbers = £181
4 Numbers = £12
3 Numbers = £10

Camelot are a right buch of crooks ( allegedly ). Richard Branson was stiched up massively when he bid for the licence....
Camelot should spread the money more thinly for sure...but not THAT thin!

The numbers were all fairly low (ie 31 and under) which means those who choose their numbers by special dates (birthdays, anniversary, etc) will have those numbers. As the prize fund on a Wednesday is much lower, such a combination of numbers means that more people are likely to have winning numbers than if the numbers were all 32 and above.

Thanks Greens :(
The money is divvied up among the winners for each prize band. The numbers were very low, hence the huge amount of winners. There was no 'stitch up', just lots of winners. Simples

Crap Town
Its swings and roundabouts , if all the numbers drawn are above 31 you can end up getting £90 for 4 numbers , get 6 numbers and the odds are in your favour that you're the only winner of £2.5M

What an absolute crock. I've never played the lottery but always assumed the jackpots were several million, not a couple of hundred grand.

Now I'm not saying I'd turn down £264,490 but considering the odds on your actually getting all six numbers I'd expect to be more handsomely rewarded than that.

That's f***ing rubbish.

Not Luton! Thank God
The low prizes are a combination of the time of year (January when everyone is poor) the Wednesday draw (always less popular) and the low numbers (birthdays innit)

Lots of people say that they want the prizes spread out thinner. But all lotteries know that the bigger the jackpot the more people will play, just look at Euromillions.

It also annoys me how everyone thought Branson was some kind of saint for offering to do the lottery without taking a profit. He would have made billions from it, through all the increased revenue and tie ins with his virgin empire.

Anyway, Camelot are up for sale and it looks like they might well be bought by the French State Operator.
