yeah i think all players scoring against us should be banned from celebrating, its so unfair.

He ran a good fifty yards, punching the air and screaming 'yes' at the top of his voice. They were only 1-0 up aswell, and I would to think that after he'd recieved good applause from our fans that he may just show a bit of respect.

I dont particularly think it was a matter of resect, i think it was a matter of professionalism.

Fair enough Laura. It just makes me laugh seeing all these other self-righteous fans laying into him over something pretty trivial like this. I thought football fans were supposed to be hard. For the record Jonesy got his fair share of abuse when he was playing for us at matches and on here (probably by some of those now claiming to have loved him). Short memories and thin skins.

Nathan Jones is a wanker, after all what we did for him. Resurrecting his career from oblivion by Micky Adams, and he shows us that today. He is a Welsh ****!

He was hardly in oblivion. He was Southend's player of the season when we signed him. But yes, sad he's turned on the fans like me who liked him at Withdean.

He kept looking at the Brighton fans and he looked genuinely disappointed that he had not got a better reception from the Brighton fans.

I heard a few tongue in cheek comments of "Brighton reject" but that was it. There was absolutely no need for him to react like that.

I would have thought he was one of the more popular ex players and would be guaranteed a good reception when he came back whoever he played for but now he will treated the same the likes of Leon Knight and Scott McGleish :tosser:

He has gone down a lot in my estimation. I wonder if Adam El-Abd still has windows in his flat this morning.

Oh come off it. Your first point just shows he still cares. The second bit is just silly. To lump him in with those two idiots just because he may have over-reacted a little is laughable. Jonesy is a character who has always worn his heart on his sleeve. Their are too few like him left in the game. He was never the most consistently skillful (but provided many excellent crosses for Zamora to bang in) and had shockers but was always good value to watch for the way he played the game. If you were a Yeovil fan you'd probably be calling him a hero for his reaction, get some perspective.

Were you there? I don't say that from a one-upmanship point of view, but I really feel that someone there could not look at it in that way.

Regardless of whether or not he played for us, his actions were amazingly aggressive, included a lot of swearwords, and would be deemed to be provoking the crowd, and if he had done it in the premiership in front of cameras and media attention, he probably would be finding himself in quite a lot of trouble. If the Albion fans weren't so disheartened by another dismal afternoon I think the reaction he caused could have been a lot stronger. The fact that his own players were trying to pull him away suggests something...

The fact that he is a former Albion LEGEND just makes it so much harder to comprehend. I do actually agree that it was in the heat of the moment and he looked a bit embarassed having done it afterwards whilst shaking his ex-teammates hands, but even then it just shows what an absolute tosser and idiot he really is.

Fair play to Revell afterwards for refusing to shake his hand, pointing at the fans.

No, I wasn't there. It sounds like he did over-react, presumably because he was so pumped-up at the time. If that is so I hope he was embarassed. Showing embarassment, for me, sets him aside from the likes of the arrogant McGleish and Leon Knight. Maybe rather than heaping abuse on him the next time he plays against us we could put what happened into context, show a bit of humility and make him feel even worse for what he did by giving him a decent reception, or am I asking too much?. Knight consistently showed his lack of respect for Brighton fans and the club and deserves all the shit he gets, I still don't think Jonesy does based on one moment of stupidity.

Was a hero still a hero.

Four games worth of abuse from people with short memories or no memories would hurt anyone, only surprise would be if there was no reaction.

What abuse? I definitely heard very little yesterday.
