Good lad and all but, personally, can't see him making the international breakthrough.........

Jones in frame for Wales

Nathan Jones could be set to break into the Wales squad this season.

The Albion midfielder is part of Mark Hughes' plans as the former Manchester United and Barcelona striker continues his country's revival.

Jones said: "My manager, Steve Coppell, has spoken to someone in Mark Hughes' camp about me so it is up to me to play well enough to be considered."

The former youth international added: "It is something I'd like to do. I'm ambitious. It is the pinnacle to play for your country.

"But my main priority is playing well for Albion and if you are doing your job for your club then international recognition is the sort of thing that comes along.

"There is a realistic possibly I might get in the squad because of the lack of strength in depth in the Wales squad."

Jones, 30, revealed he has been in daily contact with Bobby Zamora, the £1.5m striker, since he moved from the Seagulls to Tottenham.

Jones said: "Bobby is like a kid in a sweet shop!

"Our chairman (Dick Knight) did a magnificent job to keep Bobby at Brighton for as long as he did because he was one of the hottest properties outside of the Premiership."

Jonah can do it. If he makes it, I promise to buy a Wales shirt with Jones on the back!

I'm sure it wouldn't be the first wales shirt with Jones on the back half of wales has a surname of Jones doesn't it.

I think that Steve Coppell is showing his man management skills here, picking a player with obvious self esteem issues (call it shit hair syndrome)..boosting his fragile confidence in the vain hope he will actually become more than a 1 trick 3rd dividion, 1 good goal a season, substitute.

Wrong?
