I know you fail to understand how in this small village called Sussex that people talk. People connected to Premier League football clubs talk.

I think perhaps some of those people should stop talking. Sensitive transfer dealings shouldn't be openly talked about and released.

Two months ago Bozza and GB were both claiming to be ITK in two posts posted exactly after each other in the same thread. One of them claimed the ITK info said Solly March's rehab was going great and he could be back as early as October. The other said it was a 50/50 risk March would never play in the Premier League again. I was supposed to believe in both that things were going great and that there was a 50% chance of him never playing at this level again, or I was an idiot.

In this case with Billy, Bozza clearly doesn't rate the player from the beginning, spends some time arguing with me on whether he is good enough or not, and shortly after a medical is reported he says "I'm ITK and know the club don't want him".

But... what can I say? He's the boss and he's claiming to be ITK so anything I say is invalid.

Very, very strange and risky behaviour starting him this Saturday if the club was really that desperate to get rid off him. But good luck to him, will follow his adventures in Naples.

I do not like what Bozza is saying and I know he’s not much of a WBG fan but I doubt he’s claiming to be ITK and categorically stating that the club don’t want to keep him because of his opinion about WBG.

I now expect him to be gone by midnight tonight

Full disclosure, Billy lives, or sadly lived, in my road in Worthing, earlier this week I met his parents out in the street, at that point, ie Tuesday morning, he had never indicated he wanted to leave the club, the complete opposite, with a potential World Cup with Scotland in two years time, two exciting seasons in the EPL with the Albion was top of the agenda.

Unfortunately it appears he’s surplus to requirements, but frankly the transfer fee is way under what it should have been when you look at what players of similar age and ability go for. 🤷‍♂️

I haven't said any of that - although I know others have.

I know you fail to understand how in this small village called Sussex that people talk. People connected to Premier League football clubs talk.

And from those talks, I know the club don't want to keep Billy Gilmour. I don't know why that is the case, but it is very much a fact, not an opinion.

As I say - you won't believe that. But I'm happy about what I know, and trust it more than your wild guesses from somewhere a long way from here,
Is that a the club don't want him in an active way? I.e they're actively pushing the sale,or;

He's surplus to the managers requirements so the club are happy to sell?

It's the Albion's loss, bigtime. Will be watching with great interest this season as WBG threads some delicious passes through for Lukaku to run on to. At least Scotland recognise WBG's true worth

That's not quite the case.

I think it's probably fair to say I don't rate him as highly as you, certainly, but that's not to say I don't rate him at all.

He did a great job last season stepping into the massive void left by Caiecedo and Mac Allister - probably the finest midfield duo the club has ever had.

However, if we do entertain genuine ambitions to reach Europe again, I do feel we need more in our central midfield than Billy Gilmour currently offers. I wouldn't look to offload him though - I think he'd be a fine squad player. Of course, I expect Gilmour wants more than that.

Whilst not believing that BG is a £50m+ player, I would have put his value somewhat higher than we seem to be selling at.

And I am genuinely surprised that no Premier League clubs have been mentioned as having an interest in him.

As others have said - there's a whole lot of weirdness around this likely-looking transfer.

Well this is obviously not true. We are never getting to a World Cup 😭

It’s tough, but I suspect we’re getting the highest fee we could this window having left his departure to the last day of the window and played him in two EPL games because Napoli were low balling us.

If he had the value that half of NSC seem to think he does, we’d have Russell from Stains, Oli from Palace and Kieran from Ipswich breaking down our door for a deal. They are not.

Your man Potter had a real disinterest in wingers and fullbacks. He’d stick Webster or Burn at full back and Moder or Groß on the wing. I think the same is true of Hürzeler and central midfielders. Unless you are going to get tons of goals and assists or be able to fit inbetween the centre backs and successfully mark the likes of Everton’s Dominic Calvin-Lewin, I don’t think FH is interested. We just need to adjust to his tactics which don’t include a need for players with the profile of WBG.

That's very sad if that's the case he is being pushed out against his will. Do you mean his parents said he was surplus to requirements or do you just mean that must be the case if the transfer goes through?

I still can't understand why you would start a player in a match and risk injury if you were desperate to sell them?

Think that nails 90% of Albion fans' views.

This whole Gilmour business has felt off from the start:

1. Billy is worth a lot more than Napoli are willing to pay.
2. The bloke was MOTM against Man Utd - he's proven Prem quality, and we haven't got that sort of player elsewhere in our squad, i.e. neat, tidy, foot on the ball and getting physically stronger with each passing month.

2 ….. JPVH by a country mile.

Take a look over the Ferdi thread.

You panicked and started a thread about a random Spaniard. I said no need for an alternative not only then but way before.

I can bounce them later but I suspect you’ve got them in Excel already.
