Maybe those assuming that he has nothing to offer Hurzeler might consider that he wasn't fortunate enough to have a player as good as Billy to use at St Pauli. Even a lesser player with a similar qualities.

Look, maybe he will go and these rumours clearly have some legs, although the price is stupid low. But some of the comments on here writing Billy off before the new manager can have a look and see how he might use him are way off.

Hürzeler is known for his research and football knowledge.

At St Pauli, he studied us hard, he’d already been in contact with Pascal Groß to question him on RDZ’s tactics and training regimes before being linked with the manager role here.

It’s my assumption that he would have had a detailed plan for each established player by the time he was interviewed.

The thought that he is a man without a plan for a player when he has probably spent dozens of hours analysing their style, technique and gameplay is odd. We’ve been low-balled by Napoli for a reason. The Wee Billy Gilmour piece of the puzzle does not fit. That does not mean he is not a top player. I think he’ll thrive at Napoli.

We can't afford to lose both Gross and Gilmour. I don't rave about Gilmour as much as some - but I'd like to see how he'd perform in the role Milner had today, he surely has it in his locker to find those counterattacking passes if we have quick target players on the move (and not Facundo as winger which we sadly had to resort to too often in the latter half of last season)

Totally depends on who else comes in.......we can if they're both replaced/upgraded

After is extracting every last drop out of Chelsea for Caicedo, I find it odd we seem to be letting Gross and Gilmour go for relatively small amounts of money.
Gross is worth f*** all. Loved the mobility in the team yesterday.

Edit,
He's 33 years old Too slow and forgot how to cross the ball. Clearly wants to go home. It would be great to get back what we paid for him.
Could be better under a new manager.

Getting nearly £10m for a 33 year old midfielder is GOOD business. As for Gilmour we don't really know what PB & co would accept.

I'd say he was the main reason that we were 11th and not 15/16th last season.

I think this is the problem. After getting silly money for Caicedo (and Cucurella before him), we've kinda adjusted our expectation much higher than is maybe justified.

Other teams aren't going to be quite so easy to fleece.

Although I do think £12m for WBG is an insulting opening bid.
