The fight for years has been for "Falmer" - it's the name everyone in the country is aware of. Having said that, I wouldn't mind if some big corporation wanted to name one of the stands. But it's Falmer for me.

I hope it isn't anything with Falmer in it-that twatty little village has set this club back years and the last thing I want is a regular reminder of their bloody mindedness.

It needs a generic name with a sponsor's name-The Brighton or Sussex Ricoh/Amex/Emirates Arena/Stadium. It doesn't really matter what it's called-we'll all call it by a name we like anyway (it didn't take Coventry fans long to warm to 'The Ricoh'). The Skydome in Toronto is now The Rogers Centre but it's still Skydome to many. All it needs is to be built as quickly as possible and sponsored to reduce the costs.

The Goldstone, as many have said, looks back and let's be honest-the last few years weren't exactly happy so let's look forward and welcome any company who is willing to pay a decent price for naming rights: nothing should come cheap....except the beer and food on sale in there.

Will probably end up being something boring like The (sponsors name) Community Stadium.

Stand Names

I liked the idea on another thread of having a Duck Pond End/Stand.

I found this old thread with interest.

Even back then, someone clearly knew that Falmer was going to be pimped out to a blue chip, predictably AMEX.

I do like the idea of the Duck Pond End. That would put the fear into any visiting Millwall, Chelsea or Tottingham supporter.

Any other suggestions? How about the A27 Shed, or the By-pass Kop?

Would like it to be called that, but due to the power of advertising and the money that comes with it..... Amec Stadium or something of the sort is what you will see.
