My first ever stand up gig!!!

Tomorrow night at The Sanctuary Cafe'! I am shiting my pants a little bit so would be great to have some Brightonions there laughing hard.

Tickets are £4-5 and the show is called 'Top Banana'. It showcases up and coming talent, first timers (like myself) and regular comics trying out new material.

I am looking at my first stand up gig in the same way i look at having sex. I have the right tools to succeed but if all else fails i will mop up the mess i have made, pull my trousers up and hope you at least had a laugh at what i had to offer!

Good luck to you fella, I've been to watch a couple of mates make their first steps into the comedy circuit, and seen them with the nerves etc, but on stage I think the adrenaline has got them and they have put in rousing performances.

At the end of the day, at least you can say you have tried, and if it goes well, then its the start of something new and brilliant!

Be careful of this tactic if there are attractive young ladies (and/or gentlemen depending on your persuasion) sitting in the front row - it might put you off your stroke.

I did stand-up for a while. My top tip to anyone doing this is to just remember......if you mess up or you go down well.....nobody got hurt and it's fun......

and don't do the Comedy Cafe in Old St. London when 50 morbid, sad McDonald's

Good on ya - I woul ddefinetely come along but working quite late tomorrow. However, I have done some stuff at Sanctuary before and it is a great venue to do your first gig. Very friendly place and not too big or too smal. All the very best chap!

If you rmouth runs dry, run your tongue (subtely) along your top teeth - it works a treat, gets the saliva flowing again. Stupid but it works.
