I'm sorry but I don't agree. Anyone can pay for pampering if they have the money, sure, but I don't so it was a nice treat for me.

And whilst yes the Premiership is far removed from our own lower league football matches at the end of the day you support who you support for a reason and if you came from a long line of Chelsea fans, lived on Fulham Road and had been going to see them play week in week out for many a year (long before the megabucks of Abramovich) then you're going to be a Chelsea fan whatever. Were you in such a situation do you really think you'd tire of the Premiership's falseness, turn your back on the club you'd supported all your life and start seeing lower or even non-league games just for the "realness"?

Bollocks you would

ask 3,000 FC United of Manchester fans

Well their protest was against the American takeover wasn't it?

I didn't think they had an agenda against the overpaid primadonnas, the ludicrous spectacle and the vast sums of money in the premiership today that people are criticising it for.

Well exactly, yes I did. And it didn't cost me a penny so frankly I don't see why some people have such a bee in their bonnet about it

Well none of the food was branded. And the beers were those you'd find in any regular bar so I'd have to go for Ivanovic, who obviously WAS branded in Chelsea's logo.

He got the best reception from the crowd and worked hard all game. I enjoyed watching him play his part in the game, which was entertaining

I don't understand why bluejuice is getting so much abuse. Over the years I've been to dozens of premiership games from the (relatively) cheap seats to corporate hospitality and I've also been to see Lewes and Worthing. It's simply - different, and I can have as much enjoyment at a freebie corporate buffet as I can drinking Harveys on the terrace at Lewes. To say that it isn't 'real' football is a bit like saying that a modern brick-built house isn't a 'real' home and you should be living in a mud hut or a cave. It's inverted snobbery and a bit narrow-minded.

And BTW although we like to slag off the nouveau Chelsea fans a sold-out Stamford Bridge is one of the most atmospheric grounds I've been to, and that includes the likes of Old Trafford, Anfield and Roker Park back in the 1970s/80s. And yes, I'm sure it made a pleasant change from Withdean.

Well said. Inverted snobbery's all the rage these days it seems; just look at the ridiculously disproportionate slating that artists like Coldplay and James Blunt get because 'they're a bit posh'. If you don't like the Premiership experience fair enough, if you don't like James Blunt fair enough, but try and keep of the conventional wisdom bandwagon and keep it in proportion.

Tom, Brovion and HJ I thank you.

I was starting to think I was clearly in the wrong morally and ethically for daring to accept this free entertainment and then having the nerve to enjoy it

You're a Brighton fan, fun and entertainment are strictly off-limits.

Oh what, because nobody else on this board would ever dare criticise the team and our season?

Sorry, I was in a bad mood re Albion as they had been embarrassed by Swindon, so yes I called them shit, as well as our ground, which I think everybody on here agrees is shit.

And funnily enough, the reason we are fighting relegation to the 4th tier whilst Chelsea are in the running for several major trophies is that their team is much better at football than ours is. So, yes, by comparison we are shit.

But we managed a win today and I was delighted. It's not over yet and I will be following the end of season battle with great anticipation.

Glad you enjoyed it Bluejuice, I've been up to see Chelsea a couple of years ago and couldn't get over how moany and negitive there fans were. Weird given it was the season after they one their first title and they were top of the league. I'd actually heard less moaning at the Withdean! You got to see a cracking game at least!
