Genuine legend.

I’m sure he’ll be as successful in his media career and whatever else he pursues alongside that now as the guy is top class.

Will always be a hero to us and there can’t be many players who have fired Palace to promotion who could say that.

Will also add I will always be truly grateful to him for the hat trick he scored at home to Leyton Orient on new years day 2011.

My marriage had ended the night before and I was as low as I’ve ever been (to put it into context, I was drinking cans of Stongbow!! on the train before and after the game and one of the Withdean gate staff allowed me to store my crate behind one of the turnstiles during the game!) and between him and Elliott Bennett, they made me realise life wasn’t all bad!

Absolute legend in my eyes. Even with the success at Palace. Seems a great guy and seems to have really found happiness. Good luck to him.

I just hope we hire him back as a coach.

He’s one of the most natural finishers around, can surely pass on a thing or two to our young seagulls.

As much as I wish, he so natural on the radio or TV I know what I'd advise. That's another thing that comes naturally and is actually incredibly hard.

If he eventually replaces Chris Sutton on 606 I'd be incredibly happy.

Please note Dave, without that big blunder he would have made my no1.

I assume the phrase "the bloke has to make a living" is a joke? Was he struggling? I don't think Glenn will ever say he was struggling.

I would have thought most on here would put morality over money, and I thought you would head the list as you seem a fair man.

You can have him top the tree of all-time Albion players, I will have him as a classy bauble towards the top.

Everyone can be happy.:)

“The bloke has to make a living” wasn’t a joke. For some reason we seemed to see the need to get rid.

Palace wanted him. Fair enough. If him moving to Palace means he’s not your number one, fair enough. But it’s not about Morality. Brighton People may not like it that he went to Palace, but it hardly counts as lack of morality. You could doubt the morals, perhaps, if the main reason for the transfer was so he could have an affair with the Chairman’s wife, or the transfer was a way of “laundering” bent money.

Highly unlikely, he admits he doesn’t have the patience to be a coach . Will stay local and continue his media work .

A thorough professional wherever he played. Not one for big celebrations, he enjoyed calmly savouring each moment of success.

Thank you Glenn for everything that you have given the game, the clubs that you have played for, and the fans.

Dave, I set loyalty high upon my agenda in life, That's why Wilkins would top Murray as a person. I don't expect every player to stay with us if the right opportunity arises, but what I do expect is them to show the rivals the other cheek and tell their agent to do the same, especially if he can only work a deal with one club.

Like I said as a footballer there are few that have been more clinical than Glenn.

Would Dunky or Solly even think of going to palace??? No chance, they have martlets in their blood.:bhasign:

I am not sure many footballers move to a club just for a crack at the missus and we won't go there on laundering, I am sure Glenn as squeaky clean as Kim and Aggie's panties.

I put loyalty fairly high, too. But we were not very loyal to Glenn.

But at the end of the day, some on here, like you, would put the Palace thing very high.,others, like me, less so. I was disappointed when he went to Palace, but that's life. I'm not saying you and your attitude are wrong, I am just not of the same view.

No problem Dave, I actually dislike Pompey more than Palace, but we all know they are our true rivals.

The Board or Poyet screwed up royally on Muzza. One day we might find out the truth, not just Poyet blaming the Board.

The player loved our city, he's a homebird, why would he want to give himself a shite 100 mile round trip to Beckenham 5 days a week?

At close to 28 years young, he had to secure his financial future.

Meanwhile we spent £4.5m on transfers and our wage spend more than doubled to £14.7m. It was madness not to pay Championship wages to our inhouse prolific forward.

Probably someone has already said this but it was an injustice he never got at least one player of the season award

Let’s not forget Murray was a bit mardy at the time and had a knack for stupid red cards. Our clown physio team also misdiagnosed a double hernia which meant he spent quite a bit of time unfit / injured

Did he ever explain the hand on forhead goal celebration?

He has been a credit to BHAFC, even when he wanted out but i think that was is ex that wanted to move up north.

Brilliant goals. Brilliant player. Thanks Glenn. Enjoy your retirement.

I thought we had it on pretty good authority (multiple involved sources) that Poyet thought Murray was lazy and wouldn't step up so advised the club not to match Palace's higher offer?

It is, in hindsight, the obvious screw up of the club's recent history.

Agree with every word. So sure the club would’ve got to the PL a couple of seasons sooner and Gus’s star would have risen as high as his ego on the back of it. A real sliding-doors moment - especially for Poyet - not keeping a late 20s GM at the club. Barnsey & Glenn together in their full pomp.
