It seems that the standard of grammar and spelling has depreciated in the last couple of weeks from the usual (shit) to absolutely bloody atrocious.

Come on people, at least try to make an effort.

Over use of commas here.

Why the full stop after "standard"? Surely the sentence is a continuation and therefore requires a comma?

At least I made an effort.

Indeed you did mate.

BTW On the news it's being reported that a long dormant volcano has gone off in NZ and showered the North Island with ash?

"depreciated" doesn't seem right - "declined" maybe?

I find the overuse of the apostrophe on this site is bloody atrocious, never mind grammar.

Seriously. Apostrophe's? Tomato's? CD's? Bad grammar I can tolerate, because, at the end of the day, use of bad grammar on the internet does not equate to bad grammar in real life (contrary to popular belief, see grammar nazis). I mean, in real life, I bet a lot of net nazis wouldn't even correct someone using bad grammar. I mean, unless they think they are superior.

People use bad grammar all the time but the person listening just gets on with it.

You're asking that people buck up their bad grammar on this site, however there are a lot of people registered who (rightly) don't see the internet as so precious and time-worthy that they have to stop everything so that they can type ever so eloquently. The same goes for text messaging.

It does bug the shit out of me when people put extra punctuation in things when it isn't needed, though. I mean, what makes the extra extra effort worth making something look stupid?

Quality of post more important than spelling and grammer.

I'd rather read an opinion on football that has spelling mistakes than a perfectly written essay about how someone shits
